Library Senior Specialist

The Library Senior Specialist plays a vital role in implementing and managing library services and technology. They are responsible for coordinating various library functions, staying updated on the latest technologies, and ensuring smooth access to e-resources. This role involves training and supporting library staff and users, developing policies, and providing excellent public services. The Specialist will also guide patrons in utilizing library resources, assess user needs, and assist with collection maintenance and interlibrary loans. Bachelor's Degree in Library and Information Science or a related field, with a strong foundation in library systems and technologies. Adaptability and a proactive mindset, willing to take on additional responsibilities and drive continuous improvement. Excellent relationship-building skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork. 7 years of relevant experience for expats, and 4 years for UAE Nationals, demonstrating a solid understanding of library operations. Strong organizational and time management skills, ensuring efficient task execution. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service. Proficiency in library systems, including cataloging, acquisitions, and public service tools. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, contributing to a positive and productive work environment. Knowledge of collection development and maintenance practices, ensuring a well-curated library. Commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to university policies.
