Etqan Global Academy (EGA) is a values-driven IB World School in Doha, Qatar, offering the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled PYP Teacher to lead a class during a period of maternity leave, delivering engaging, inquiry-based learning and ensuring continuity and stability for students. The role: We seek an individual to join as PYP Teacher (Maternity Cover) where your focus will be: Planning and delivering outstanding, inquiry-based lessons within the IB PYP framework, following the class's Programme of Inquiry and units already in progress Picking up existing planning quickly and maintaining continuity of learning, routines and relationships for the class Collaborating with grade-level colleagues, specialist teachers and the PYP Coordinator to promote student agency and transdisciplinary learning Assessing, recording and reporting on student progress in line with school policy, including contributing to end-of-term reporting Building positive relationships with students and communicating clearly and regularly with parents Creating a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that supports the wellbeing of all learners Contributing to the wider life of EGA during the cover period The Successful Candidate will possess: A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE/PGDE or equivalent) and a Bachelor's degree Previous IB PYP experience Excellent classroom practice, with engaging, creative and well-structured lessons The ability to adapt quickly and settle into an established class and team Experience of inquiry-based and transdisciplinary learning Excellent communication and collaboration skills A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students Fluent English speaker (native or near-native) Availability for an immediate start; candidates currently based in Qatar with the right to work are preferred - About Us Etqan Global Academy is a values-driven IB World School in Doha, Qatar, offering the IB PYP, MYP, Diploma Programme and Career-related Programme. A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE/PGDE or equivalent) and a Bachelor's degree in ICT or a related subject. Previous IB PYP and/or MYP experience. Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to work effectively with teachers across subject areas and grade levels. Fluent English speaker (native or near-native); ability to meet visa requirements for working in Qatar. Understanding of digital citizenship, emerging technologies and responsible AI use (highly desirable).

Plan and deliver outstanding, inquiry-based ICT lessons within the IB PYP framework, integrating technology meaningfully within the Programme of Inquiry. Collaborate with homeroom and specialist teachers to promote student agency, creativity and transdisciplinary learning through technology. Develop students' skills progressively in coding/programming, computational thinking, digital design, robotics and emerging technologies. Design authentic project- and problem-based learning experiences that enable students to investigate, create, test and evaluate. Promote digital citizenship, online safety, data privacy, academic integrity and the responsible and ethical use of AI. Incorporate enrichment activities, clubs, and extra-curricular events that raise the profile of ICT and deepen student engagement. Contribute actively to curriculum development, assessment moderation and the wider life of EGA.
