ABOUT FLIPSTER Flipster FZE is the Dubai-based entity of Flipster, a fast-growing global crypto trading platform, licensed by Dubai's Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) to operate a regulated Virtual Asset exchange. THE OPPORTUNITY This role sits in the engine room of our exchange. As Financial Engineer for Flipster FZE, you will own how our VARA-regulated markets are built and how they behave: which assets we list and on what terms, the quality and integrity of our order books, our day-to-day relationship with market makers, and the settlement and cash flows that keep our liquidity providers funded. Working at the intersection of trading, operations, data and compliance, you will be the person who knows at any moment how our markets are performing and why. As Flipster FZE pursues a VARA Derivatives licence, you will also play a central role in shaping and running our perpetual swap product set. ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES Products & listings • Manage cryptocurrency listings and delistings end-to-end, from asset assessment and documentation through to launch, monitoring and orderly delisting, in line with VARA requirements. • Coordinate the completeness of risk assessments for new spot and perpetual listings. • Design and maintain perpetual swap specifications, including contract terms, tick and lot sizes, leverage and margin tiers, funding and price index parameters. • Keep a close watch on market trends to quickly list trending perpetual products. Market quality & integrity • Monitor market quality across all listed instruments (spreads, depth, price deviation and uptime) and act on deterioration. • Monitor the insurance fund to detect any sudden depletion. • Detect, investigate and escalate trading incidents and abusive trading activities, working closely with the Compliance team. Liquidity & market makers • Coordinate with market makers on liquidity provision, inventory and operational issues, and track their performance against agreed obligations. • Run the Liquidity Providers settlement netting process and cash management, including pre-funding, ensuring accurate and timely settlement. Analytics, operations & compliance • Analyse user trading activities, fund flows and trading profitability, and turn the findings into actionable insights for management. • Handle operational reconciliations and support regulatory compliance initiatives, including data requests and reporting to VARA. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE • 3+ years of experience in crypto exchanges, trading operations or financial markets. • Strong technical understanding of cryptocurrency derivatives (especially perpetuals, including the calculation of funding rates, lot sizes, maintenance margins, index price, liquidation mechanics and insurance fund), market microstructure and trading mechanisms. • Proficiency in SQL and data analysis. PROFILE & SOFT SKILLS • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: you are comfortable working with large datasets, getting to the root cause of an issue and proposing a fix. • Excellent cross-functional communicator, able to work effectively with trading, market makers, engineering, finance and compliance teams. NICE TO HAVE • Experience in market surveillance, risk management or market maker operations. • Proficiency in Python for data analysis and automation. • Knowledge of exchange pricing, funding and liquidation mechanisms. • Familiarity with crypto regulations, particularly Dubai VARA.
