Senior Accountant – Shopping Mall

JPC - 6870 Position: Sr. Accountant Location: Abu Dhabi Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee the accounting operations of a shopping mall. The candidate must have strong technical accounting expertise, preferably in commercial property, and the leadership skills to supervise an accounting team and deliver accurate reporting. Key Responsibilities Oversee the mall s accounting function and ensure accurate and timely reporting. Supervise, review and guide accountants and junior finance staff. Manage monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing. Prepare financial statements, management accounts, budgets and variance analyses. Oversee tenant billing, rental income, service charges, receivables and collections reconciliations. Monitor tenant ageing, overdue balances and collection performance. Review AP, supplier reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and fixed assets. Ensure appropriate IFRS treatment of leases, rental income and property transactions. Monitor operating expenses, maintenance costs and mall profitability. Prepare cash flow forecasts and support annual budgets. Support UAE VAT, corporate tax compliance, internal controls and external audits. Coordinate with mall management, leasing, operations and Group Finance. Mandatory Requirements Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. 6 10 years of relevant accounting experience, including senior-level responsibility. Strong IFRS, financial reporting and general ledger knowledge. Ability to independently close monthly accounts and prepare financial statements. Demonstrated supervision or review of accounting staff. Strong receivables, reconciliations, accruals and financial controls knowledge. Advanced Excel and ERP/accounting system skills. Strong communication, problem-solving and leadership abilities. Preferred Qualifications Shopping mall, commercial real estate or property management experience. Tenant billing, lease administration and rental income accounting experience. ACCA, CMA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification. Experience presenting financial results to senior management.
