About the role
At SolitAir, whether you're on the ground or in the skies, every role here plays a part in shaping the future of cargo aviation. As a start-up business, we're looking for colleagues who combine experience, innovation, problem solving and hands-on involvement. We're looking for a Flight Dispatcher to join our team, based at DWC, Dubai. Flight Dispatchers prepare, analyze, authorize, and monitor the progress of all SolitAir flights to ensure safe, efficient and compliant execution of the airline’s cargo services. The Flight Dispatcher provides operational support to flight crew, making timely decisions on routing, fuel, weather and load factors while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and company procedures. Key Responsibilities • Flight Planning & Authorization: Develop, review, authorize, and file the Operational Flight Plan (OFP) using optimized routing, weather analysis, NOTAMs, payload weights, and aircraft performance data. • Fleet Flight Watch: Conduct active flight watch across both dry-lease and wet-lease aircraft identically in terms of real-time OCC monitoring responsibility, tracking flight progress and maintaining operational support. • Technical Synchronization: Cross-reference aircraft technical status (MELs/CDLs provided by MCC) to calculate precise fuel penalties and payload limitations. • Crew Duty Tracking: Monitor crew check-in status and actual block/flight times, proactively alerting the DOM and Crew Control of any impending Flight Duty Period (FDP) exceedances. • Ramp & Operational Liaison: Maintain contact with Station Ground Handling Agents (GHAs), dedicated Loadmasters/Cargo Load Control, and air traffic control to monitor fuelling, cargo progress, turnarounds, and departure sequences. (Note: Load control and weight/balance sheets are strictly the responsibility of Ground Operations/Loadmasters and not Flight Dispatch). • Dangerous Goods (DG) Operational Awareness: Maintain operational awareness of DG shipments; ensure approved DG paperwork (NOTOC) provided by certified Cargo/Warehouse teams is loaded into the flight folder prior to departure. • Real-Time Data Dissemination: Instantly input accurate operational delay codes and updated flight movement messages (MVT/LDG) into integrated company systems, ensuring Engineering, Crew Control, and Customer Service operate from a single source of truth. • Briefing & Documentation: Deliver technical flight briefings to flight crews. Dispatch necessary flight documentation, manage post-flight folders, and maintain accurate communications logs. • Irregular Operations (IRROPS) Support: Actively manage tactical dispatch changes during IRROPS, re-clearing flights, evaluating alternate routes, and updating flight plans as directed by the DOM. • SMS Commitment: Strictly adhere to the Safety Management System, submitting hazard or safety reports whenever an operational risk or safety deviation is identified. Qualifications & Experience • Minimum of an ICAO-recognised Flight Dispatcher licence • Minimum 3 years’ experience in airline or cargo operations, flight dispatch or operations control preferred. • Familiarity with flight planning systems, weather analysis tools and operational flight documentation. • Understanding of performance calculations, weight and balance principles and fuel planning methodologies. • Proficient in English (spoken and written) Skills & Attributes • Strong situational awareness and decision-making under time pressure. • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to provide clear instructions and concise briefings. • High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and calculations. • Ability to work shifts, including nights, weekends and on-call duties as required by operational demands. • Commitment to safety, regulatory compliance and continuous professional development. What you can expect • This role works on a 4 days on/ 4 days off rotating shift basis, including night and weekend work • An operationally focused role with direct impact on flight safety and service reliability • Working as part of a close-knit team in a dynamic, safety-first environment. • Opportunities to progress within flight operations and broaden responsibilities across network planning and control.
