Mechanical Material Engineer (Maintenance)

Position Title: Mechanical Material Engineer Department: Maintenance Experience: Minimum 5+ Years Job Purpose The Material Engineer will be responsible for material management activities supporting maintenance and operation. The role requires strong technical knowledge to evaluate material specifications, review engineering drawings, and ensure the availability of materials in compliance with maintenance requirements. Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. • Minimum 5 years of experience in plant maintenance activities within the petrochemical, oil & gas or industrial sectors. • Strong understanding of material specifications, standards, and maintenace practices. • Knowledge of international codes and standards (ASME, ASTM and API). Key Responsibilities • Review and evaluate material requests, technical specifications, and engineering requirements. • Verify material compliance with drawings, datasheets, standards, and specifications. • Conduct technical evaluations of vendor offers and provide recommendations. • Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, procurement, and warehouse teams for material planning and availability. • Review mechanical drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, and determine material requirements. • Support maintenance planning by identifying critical materials and lead times. • Ensure proper material coding and cataloging within SAP. • Provide technical support, material assessments, and engineering recommendations. • Participate in troubleshooting material-related issues and provide technical solutions. Required Skills • Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, P&IDs, GA drawings and isometrics. • Experience in technical bid evaluation and vendor document review. • Excellent understanding of maintenance materials, spare parts management, and procurement processes. • Proficiency in SAP Material & Plant Management (MM & PM).
