General Practitioner

Description Job Purpose: Assists MRP and treating teams in implementing management plan and performs documentation in EMR in a timely manner and in accordance with Fakeeh care policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities And Duties • Interviews and evaluates patients during his/her duty hours, and takes a thorough accurate medical history, including detailed medication history, socioeconomic, psychological and functional history, and documents all relevant clinical information in the patient's medical record. • Notifies the attending physician about any admitted inpatients and discusses with him/her the patient's clinical condition and any medical details that warrant further or additional management, clarify with him/her the needed work up and management plan. • Does daily rounds to every inpatient in his / her assigned wards, and documents in the progress notes his / her findings along with assessment and plan of care. • Responds immediately to patient's medical complaints, evaluates and manages the patient with assistance of the concerned specialist or consultant, and documents findings and plan of care in the progress notes. • Documents all the indications and clinical justifications for all requested advanced diagnostic tests (e.g. C.T. scan, MRI.U/S) in the progress notes. • Endorses at the end of duty time in detail all inpatients in his / her assigned ward to his / her colleague including the pending medical diagnostic and therapeutic issues. • Coordinates between the patient and all disciplines of health care team involved in the care provision including nurses, consultants, clinical dietitians, social workers, laboratory and radiology departments and Insurance company doctors, etc. • Fills accurately and properly all required forms in patient's medical record as defined by Fakeeh Care policies including the medical transfer form for all patients transferred from his / her ward to another wards. • Completes properly and accurately the discharge summaries of his inpatients and discusses the discharge instruction sheet and take home medications with the discharged patients. • Attends all departmental meetings and participates actively in all departmental projects and activities. • Participates in all quality and patient safety activities in the Fakeeh Health Care facility. • Acts as an active member of the Fakeeh Health Care facility and shares in all efforts that facilitate the provision of safe, uneventful and smooth care to Fakeeh Care patients. • Reports to the attending of patients and / or chairpersons of medical departments any relevant unresolved medical patient related problems. • Participates in continuous medical education activities and earns at least 30 CME per year. • Evaluates all patients presenting to the support clinic, and conducts full history as required. • Performs physical examination if and as clinically indicated. • Conducts medication renewal. • Performs other duties within the scope of service of the support clinic, and according to Fakeeh Care policies. • Performs all duties of the floor doctor under Duties 12 to 17 above. • Performs duties of inpatient GP (see above). • Educates patients and their families about health conditions, treatments and preventative measures. • Performs additional duties according to the regional health regulatory authority policies and requirements. Experience Completion of one year experience (internship) in recognized hospitals or health centers. Education Bachelor Degree in Medicine and surgery or the equivalent from an accredited institution. Language Excellent command of oral and written English and prefer Arabic. Licenses / Certifications License for practice as per the regional health regulatory authority e.g. (SCFHS / DHA), BLS Certificate and advanced license if applicable.

Completion of one year experience (internship) in recognized hospitals or health centers. Bachelor Degree in Medicine and surgery or the equivalent from an accredited institution. License for practice as per the regional health regulatory authority e.g. (SCFHS / DHA), BLS Certificate and advanced license if applicable. Excellent command of oral and written English and prefer Arabic. Language.

Evaluates patients presenting to support clinic, conducts full history, performs physical examination as indicated, conducts medication renewals, and performs other duties within the scope of the support clinic and policies. Performs duties of floor doctor and inpatient GP as required. Educates patients and families about health conditions, treatments and prevention. Performs additional duties according to regional health regulatory authority policies.
