SAP Database Administrator - SAP ASE (Sybase)

We are looking for SAP Database Administrator. The SAP Database Resource will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing the organization’s SAP database landscape to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of mission‑critical systems. The resource must possess a minimum of five (5) years of hands‑on experience in administering SAP databases, with strong expertise in SAP ASE (Sybase), environments. The candidate should also have solid working knowledge of SQL development and query optimization to support troubleshooting, reporting, and performance analysis activities. Key Responsibilities • Perform end‑to‑end administration, monitoring, and maintenance of SAP databases ASE across development, testing, and production environments. • Ensure database performance tuning, optimization, and proactive issue resolution to maintain system stability and efficiency. • Execute regular backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures in alignment with the organization’s IT and business continuity policies. • Support SAP Basis teams in upgrades, patches, system refreshes, and database‑related components of major projects. • Implement security controls, user management, and access policies in compliance with organizational and industry standards. • Develop and optimize SQL queries, scripts, and stored procedures to support reporting, integrations, and troubleshooting activities. • Generate operational and performance reports and recommend improvements to enhance system reliability and efficiency. • Collaborate with stakeholders, functional consultants, and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth operations and timely resolution of incidents. Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in SAP database administration. • Hands‑on experience with SAP ASE (Sybase) • Proficiency in SQL scripting, performance tuning, and query optimization. • Experience with system monitoring tools and SAP database lifecycle management. • Strong understanding of database backup, recovery, and high‑availability concepts. • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
