This role focuses on post-harvest preservation, temperature-controlled storage, inventory management, quality monitoring, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of agricultural supply chains, food preservation methods, and cold chain management. 🎯 Key Responsibilities • Develop and implement post-harvest handling procedures to maintain the quality and freshness of agricultural products. • Oversee daily cold storage operations, including temperature monitoring, humidity control, and storage conditions. • Manage the receiving, sorting, grading, packaging, and storage of fresh produce and agricultural commodities. • Monitor cold storage equipment, refrigeration systems, and temperature control technologies. • Establish storage protocols to minimize product deterioration, spoilage, and post-harvest losses. • Coordinate inventory management, stock rotation, and product dispatch schedules. • Conduct quality inspections to evaluate product freshness, appearance, maturity, and storage conditions. • Implement appropriate preservation techniques, including pre-cooling, controlled atmosphere storage, and modified atmosphere packaging. • Supervise cold storage personnel and coordinate daily operational activities. • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and cold chain management requirements. • Analyze operational performance and recommend improvements to storage efficiency and energy consumption. • Prepare operational reports covering inventory levels, product quality, storage performance, and maintenance activities. ✅ Requirements • Background in Agricultural Engineering, Food Science, Post-Harvest Technology, Horticulture, or a related discipline. • Understanding of post-harvest handling, agricultural product preservation, and cold chain management. • Knowledge of refrigeration systems, temperature monitoring, humidity control, and cold storage equipment. • Familiarity with fresh produce grading, sorting, packaging, and quality assessment procedures. • Understanding of food safety standards, hygiene practices, and storage management requirements. • Experience with inventory control systems, warehouse management software, or cold chain monitoring technologies is an advantage. • Ability to identify causes of product deterioration and recommend appropriate preservation solutions. • Strong operational planning, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills. • Good communication and coordination abilities when working with warehouse personnel, suppliers, and logistics teams. • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Agricultural Engineering, Post-Harvest Technology, or a related field is preferred.
