C++ Software Engineer

I'm working with a highly regarded quantitative trading firm seeking to add an experienced C++ Software Engineer to its growing engineering team in the UAE. You'll be surrounded by talented engineers and working closely with traders, researchers and fellow developers, playing a key role in developing some of the firm's most technically demanding systems. The Role: You'll be involved throughout the full development lifecycle, from initial design and development through to deployment, with a particular focus on building ultra-low-latency, high-throughput trading systems. Key responsibilities will include: • Designing and developing high-performance C++ systems within a Linux environment. • Building and enhancing the core frameworks that support trading applications. • Working closely with traders, researchers and other engineers to deliver new technology and infrastructure. • Benchmarking, profiling and optimising critical software services to maximise performance. • Developing latency-sensitive systems, with a particular focus on low-level systems and network performance. • Taking ownership of projects from conception through to production deployment. • Continuously identifying opportunities to improve scalability, flexibility and overall system performance. What We're Looking For • Advanced proficiency in C/C++ systems development within Linux. • A strong background in performance tuning and low-latency software optimisation. • A proven track record of developing high-performance software. • Experience building latency-sensitive systems, with a solid understanding of low-level systems and network development. • Strong knowledge of hardware architecture and the impact of hardware on latency. • A good understanding of network protocols. • Advanced knowledge of operating system internals and the Linux kernel. • An interest in or experience with x86 assembly.
