The Quantity Surveyor evaluates progress claims, prepares interim payment assessments, reviews additional work requests, and assists with the preparation of final accounts. The role also involves monitoring contract compliance, identifying potential financial risks, documenting cost changes, and ensuring that payment and valuation procedures follow established contractual requirements. Project cost control responsibilities include monitoring expenditure against approved budgets, preparing cost reports, tracking financial performance, and identifying potential cost overruns. The Quantity Surveyor works closely with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and project management teams to review project progress and assess the financial impact of design or construction changes. Through accurate measurement, effective cost management, and systematic financial reporting, the role supports commercial transparency, budget control, and successful project delivery.
