Estimator / Quantity Surveyor

About Moon Kids Since 2011, Moon Kids has designed, manufactured, supplied and installed children’s spaces across the UAE, from nurseries and schools to hotels, developers and residential clients. With 1000+ completed projects and a 30,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in Musaffah, we’re growing fast and need a commercial mind to protect and improve our margins. The role You will own our pricing, from custom project quotations to the prices on our website. You’ll turn briefs, drawings and specs into accurate, competitive, profitable quotes, and negotiate material and subcontractor prices before we quote, so the numbers we submit are numbers we can actually deliver at. You’ll use AI tools to work faster than a traditional estimator, and work closely with our Procurement team, who place orders using the prices and terms you secure. Key responsibilities • Prepare take-offs, BOQs and costed quotations for bespoke furniture, joinery, themed interiors, and play and outdoor installations • Use AI tools to speed up take-offs, quote drafting, supplier comparisons and cost analysis, and check every output for accuracy • Obtain, compare and negotiate supplier quotes to secure the best price, quality and lead times • Negotiate pricing and scope with subcontractors (installation, civil, MEP, surfacing, etc.) through to award • Hand agreed prices, validity periods and terms to Procurement so orders are placed at the quoted cost • Own the costing behind our website product prices, keeping them accurate, profitable and updated when supplier or material costs change • Build and maintain a live costing database covering materials, manufacturing, labour, transport and installation • Work with Sales and Design to turn quotes around fast and protect margin on every deal • Handle client queries, value-engineering and revisions during tender and negotiation • Track quoted vs. actual costs and feed learnings back into pricing What we’re looking for • 3+ years as an Estimator/QS in joinery, furniture manufacturing, fit-out or interiors (UAE or GCC experience strongly preferred) • Real negotiation experience with suppliers and subcontractors, with examples of savings you’ve achieved • Strong take-off skills from drawings and specs, and a solid grasp of material, manufacturing and installation costs • Comfortable using AI tools in your daily work, and sharp enough to spot when they get it wrong • Strong Excel skills; experience with costing or ERP systems is a plus • Confident communicator who can push back on price and close a negotiation • Fast, organised, accurate, and comfortable under tight deadlines • Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management or similar (preferred) What we offer • Monthly bonus linked to revenue performance: paid every month on a formula agreed upfront • Employment visa • Medical insurance • 30 days paid annual leave
