Role Description The Restaurant Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Benghazi. This position is responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations for restaurant units, including recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and monitoring cash flow. The role involves preparing financial reports, tracking inventory and cost of goods sold, reviewing vendor invoices, and ensuring accurate payroll and expense allocations. The Restaurant Accountant collaborates with operations and management teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis, while maintaining compliance with internal controls and local financial regulations. Qualifications • Strong skills in financial accounting, bookkeeping, and account reconciliation for multi-unit or restaurant operations. • Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, and cost-control summaries. • Proficiency with accounting software, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and spreadsheet tools such as Microsoft Excel. • Knowledge of inventory management, cost of goods sold calculations, and vendor invoice processing. • Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and basic tax and regulatory requirements. • Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and time management skills. • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with operations, management, and vendors. • Relevant bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; professional certifications are an advantage. • Experience in restaurant, hospitality, or retail accounting is highly beneficial.
