Procurement Officer

Job Summary We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of procurement experience in the construction, contracting, or engineering industry. Experience in the wastewater treatment (WWTP/STP/WTP) sector will be considered a strong advantage. The candidate should also be proficient in Tally ERP and capable of handling procurement activities efficiently while maintaining cost control and supplier relationships. Key Responsibilities • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors. • Obtain quotations, compare prices, and prepare comparative statements for management approval. • Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure timely procurement of materials and services. • Coordinate with project, engineering, and warehouse teams regarding material requirements and delivery schedules. • Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships. • Ensure all purchased materials meet the required technical specifications and quality standards. • Track deliveries and resolve any supply delays or discrepancies. • Maintain procurement records, supplier databases, and documentation. • Process procurement transactions and maintain accurate records using Tally ERP. • Assist in inventory monitoring and stock replenishment. • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality. • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures. • Support management with procurement reports and other administrative tasks as required. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. • Minimum 2 years of procurement experience in the construction, contracting, or engineering industry. • Experience in the Wastewater Treatment (WWTP/STP/WTP) industry is an added advantage. • Proficiency in Tally ERP is required. • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and purchasing documentation. • Good negotiation and communication skills. • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word. • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously. • Familiarity with local UAE suppliers and procurement practices is an advantage. Preferred Skills • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills. • Ability to analyze quotations and prepare cost comparisons. • Knowledge of engineering materials, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and civil items. • Ability to coordinate effectively with multiple departments. • High level of accuracy and attention to detail. • Positive attitude, professionalism, and willingness to learn.
