Chief Security Architect

Role Description The Chief Security Architect at IFTUR | empresa júnior is a part-time, hybrid role based in Ash Sharqiyah South Governorate, Oman, with flexibility for some work from home. This role is responsible for designing and maintaining the organization’s overall security architecture, ensuring that systems, applications, and networks are protected in line with best practices and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day activities include evaluating existing security controls, defining security standards, collaborating with development and infrastructure teams, and reviewing technical designs for security risks. The Chief Security Architect will perform threat modeling, support security assessments and audits, guide incident response planning, and recommend improvements to security tools and processes. The role also involves documenting security architectures, delivering clear guidance to stakeholders, and mentoring team members on secure design principles. Qualifications • Ability to design and document robust Security Architecture Design solutions that align with organizational goals and risk tolerance. • Strong Application Security skills, including secure SDLC practices, code review for security issues, and collaboration with engineering teams. • Broad Cybersecurity expertise, including threat modeling, risk assessment, and familiarity with modern attack techniques and defensive strategies. • Hands-on experience with Network Security, such as firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, segmentation, and secure configuration of network components. • Solid Information Security knowledge, including policies, standards, governance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST), and compliance considerations. • Proficiency in security tools and technologies (e.g., SIEM, vulnerability scanners, endpoint protection) and interpreting their outputs for actionable insights. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences. • Experience working in hybrid or distributed teams and managing priorities in a part-time environment. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, SABSA, OSCP) are an advantage.
