IT & Digitalization Manager

JOB TITLE: IT & Digitalization Manager Location: Yanqul, Sultanate of Oman Industry: Mining / Mineral Processing Nationality Requirement: Omani Nationals Only Job Summary We are seeking an experienced IT & Digitalization Manager to lead IT infrastructure, operational technology (OT), cybersecurity, industrial systems integration, and digital transformation initiatives within a mining and mineral processing environment. The successful candidate will ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of IT and OT systems while driving digital innovation, data-driven decision-making, and operational excellence across plant operations. Key Responsibilities Minimum Qualifications & Experience Technical Skills Preferred Certifications Key Competencies • IT Strategy & Operations • Develop and implement IT strategies and digitalization roadmaps aligned with business objectives. • Oversee IT operations, system availability, service delivery, and business continuity. • Manage IT service providers, vendors, technology procurement, and contracts. • Identify technology improvement opportunities and implement cost-effective solutions. • Support the integration of IT and OT systems, including SCADA, DCS, PLCs, and process historians. • IT Infrastructure & Systems Management • Manage IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, hardware, software, databases, and cloud services. • Oversee virtualization platforms, firewalls, backup solutions, and ERP systems. • Ensure system reliability through preventive maintenance, upgrades, and performance monitoring. • Maintain technology inventories, software licenses, system documentation, and service agreements. • Cybersecurity & Risk Management • Develop and maintain IT/OT cybersecurity frameworks, policies, and security controls. • Protect data, networks, industrial control systems, and critical infrastructure against cyber threats. • Conduct cybersecurity risk assessments, audits, and vulnerability reviews. • Lead cybersecurity incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning. • Ensure regular testing of backup systems and disaster recovery procedures. • Digital Transformation & Analytics • Lead digital transformation initiatives and implement Industry 4.0 technologies, including IoT, AI, machine learning, digital twins, and smart mining solutions. • Establish data governance standards and improve enterprise reporting and analytics capabilities. • Drive the adoption of Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and advanced analytics platforms. • Identify digital solutions to improve plant throughput, mineral recovery, equipment reliability, and energy efficiency. • Support predictive maintenance, condition monitoring, and data-driven operational decision-making. • Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management • Lead, coach, and develop the IT team, including performance management and technical training. • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, laboratory, and business support teams. • Manage relationships with technology vendors, service providers, and relevant external stakeholders. • Translate business requirements into effective technology solutions and communicate technical matters clearly to non-technical stakeholders. • Governance & Compliance • Develop and maintain IT policies, standards, procedures, and technical documentation. • Ensure compliance with software licensing, information security requirements, and applicable regulations. • Manage technology projects, budgets, resources, and implementation timelines. • Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. • A master s degree in a relevant discipline is an added advantage. • Minimum 10 years of relevant IT experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role. • Proven experience managing IT infrastructure, ERP systems, networks, virtualization, firewalls, and backup solutions. • Strong knowledge of IT/OT integration, industrial automation environments, and cybersecurity. • Demonstrated experience leading IT projects and digital transformation initiatives within budget and timelines. • Experience in mining, mineral processing, manufacturing, oil and gas, or other industrial environments is highly desirable. • IT infrastructure, network administration, servers, and VMware virtualization. • Network security, firewalls, backup, and disaster recovery solutions. • ERP systems, databases, cloud services, and enterprise applications. • Industrial automation and OT systems, including SCADA, DCS, PLCs, and process historians. • IT/OT cybersecurity, risk assessment, and incident response. • Data analytics, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, IoT, AI, and machine learning. • Project management, technology integration, and vendor management. • CISSP or CISM. • ITIL. • Azure Solutions Architect Expert. • Power BI Data Analyst Associate. • Other relevant IT, cybersecurity, cloud, or digital transformation certifications. • Strong leadership, team management, and stakeholder engagement. • Excellent project management, planning, and organizational skills. • Strong business understanding and problem-solving abilities. • Ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and priorities effectively. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
