About The Role We are seeking a Software Engineer to contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software used across Satel’s products and internal systems. In this role, you will work with colleagues across engineering, product, quality assurance, and other business functions to turn requirements into dependable, maintainable software. You will participate throughout the development lifecycle, from understanding user needs and evaluating technical options to implementing features and supporting releases. The ideal candidate combines sound programming fundamentals with curiosity, careful problem-solving, and a commitment to producing high-quality work. You will be encouraged to share ideas, ask questions, and take increasing ownership of projects as you become familiar with our technology and processes. Qualifications A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred. Candidates should have experience developing software in one or more commonly used programming languages and a solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented or modular design principles. Familiarity with version control systems, code review practices, automated testing, and software development workflows is expected. Experience working with APIs, databases, cloud platforms, embedded systems, or communication technologies may be helpful, depending on project needs. You should be comfortable investigating technical issues, documenting your work, and communicating clearly with both technical and nontechnical colleagues. Collaborate with product and engineering partners to clarify requirements, assess trade-offs, estimate work, and plan implementation. Write readable, maintainable, and well-documented code in accordance with team standards and established engineering practices. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback that supports quality, consistency, and shared learning. Develop and maintain unit, integration, or other automated tests, and investigate defects across development and release environments. Diagnose software issues by collecting relevant information, reproducing problems, and working with teammates to identify durable solutions. Contribute to technical documentation, project discussions, and continuous improvement efforts. Follow secure development practices and consider performance, reliability, usability, and maintainability throughout the development process. Support releases and, when needed, help monitor or resolve issues affecting deployed software.
