Senior AVL Design Engineer

1. About the Company A leading technology solutions provider specializing in integrated Audio, Video, Lighting (AVL), and ICT systems, delivering advanced technology solutions for commercial, government, enterprise, and large-scale projects across Saudi Arabia. 2. About the Role lead the design and coordination of integrated Audio, Video, and Lighting systems. The role involves translating client requirements into practical, coordinated, and cost-effective technical designs, supporting projects from concept development through implementation, testing, commissioning, and final handover. 3. Key Responsibilities • Review project specifications, contracts, tender documents, and drawings to identify AVL design requirements and deliverables. • Develop concept, schematic, detailed, and construction-stage designs for audio, video, display, control, conferencing, and lighting systems. • Prepare system architecture diagrams, signal flows, equipment layouts, rack layouts, cable schedules, and technical drawings. • Perform technical calculations and simulations related to audio coverage, sound pressure levels, speech intelligibility, video displays, viewing distances, and lighting performance. • Select and specify appropriate AVL equipment, including loudspeakers, microphones, DSPs, amplifiers, displays, video processors, cameras, luminaires, and control systems. • Prepare technical proposals, design reports, bills of quantities (BOQs), equipment schedules, compliance statements, and technical submittals. • Coordinate AVL designs with architectural, interior design, electrical, ICT/ELV, mechanical, and BIM teams. • Ensure effective integration between audio, video, lighting, control systems, AV-over-IP, and third-party platforms. • Conduct design reviews, technical evaluations, value engineering, and design optimization. • Review vendor proposals, shop drawings, material submittals, and technical alternatives. • Provide technical support during installation, integration, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and project handover. • Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to resolve technical queries and design comments. • Maintain design documentation, revision records, and compliance with project quality standards. • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and designers. 4. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, Mechatronics, Architectural Engineering, Lighting Design, or a related technical discipline. • 5–7 years of relevant experience in AVL, AV, or integrated audio, video, and lighting system design. • Proven experience in designing and coordinating integrated AVL systems for commercial, enterprise, government, hospitality, entertainment, or large-scale projects. • Strong knowledge of professional audio systems, acoustics, DSP, loudspeaker coverage, and speech intelligibility. • Experience with video distribution, LED/video walls, projection systems, conferencing, collaboration, and display technologies. • Knowledge of architectural lighting design, photometric calculations, lighting controls, and dimming systems. • Understanding of AV-over-IP, networked media, bandwidth planning, and ICT/ELV integration. • Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant AVL design tools; Revit/BIM and lighting simulation software are an advantage. • Ability to prepare technical drawings, system schematics, BOQs, equipment schedules, and design documentation. • Professional English communication skills; Arabic is preferred.
