Mechanical Engineer

Job Description Qualifications and Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering • Minimum 10 years’ experience in mechanical site supervision or engineering within construction • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and fire-fighting design and installation standards • Experience reviewing mechanical shop drawings, submittals and method statements • UAE experience preferred Key Responsibilities • Monitor the installation of mechanical systems to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications • Review contractor mechanical shop drawings, submittals and method statements • Conduct site inspections and witness testing of mechanical installations and equipment • Identify and record mechanical non-conformances, coordinating corrective actions with the contractor • Coordinate with design teams to resolve mechanical technical queries and site-related issues • Support the review of contractor claims and variations relating to mechanical works • Prepare mechanical progress reports and inspection records • Support testing, commissioning and handover activities for mechanical systems Core competencies • Mechanical Engineering • HVAC & Plumbing Systems • Site Supervision • Quality Inspection • Communication Skills Responsibilities • Monitor the installation of mechanical systems to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications • Review contractor mechanical shop drawings, submittals and method statements • Conduct site inspections and witness testing of mechanical installations and equipment • Identify and record mechanical non-conformances, coordinating corrective actions with the contractor • Coordinate with design teams to resolve mechanical technical queries and site-related issues • Support the review of contractor claims and variations relating to mechanical works • Prepare mechanical progress reports and inspection records • Support testing, commissioning and handover activities for mechanical systems Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering • Minimum 6-8 years’ experience in mechanical site supervision or engineering within construction • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and fire-fighting design and installation standards • Experience reviewing mechanical shop drawings, submittals and method statements • KSA experience preferred
