Contract Management Specialist

For a well-known Islamic Bank in Bahrain we are looking for Contract Management Specialist. The Ideal Candidate will be responsible for supporting the Procurement function in the end-to-end management of commercial contracts, ensuring that all contractual arrangements are reviewed, negotiated, approved, and executed in line with the Bank’s governance framework, commercial objectives, and regulatory requirements. The role serves as the primary liaison between Procurement, Business Units, Legal, Shari’a, and external vendors, facilitating effective contract negotiations, risk management, stakeholder coordination, and contract governance. The incumbent will ensure that contractual risks are appropriately identified and mitigated while maintaining a robust contract lifecycle management process. Key Responsibilities: • Review and analyze vendor contracts, agreements, Statements of Work (SOWs), amendments, renewals, and related contractual documents. • Identify contractual, commercial, and legal risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures. • Coordinate contract reviews and approvals with Legal, Shari’a, Business Units, and other stakeholders. • Lead or support contractual negotiations with vendors to achieve favorable commercial and contractual outcomes. • Ensure all agreed commercial and contractual terms are accurately reflected in final contract documents. • Manage the contract finalization and execution process, ensuring required approvals are obtained and documented. • Maintain contract repositories, renewal trackers, amendment records, and version control documentation. • Monitor contract status, outstanding reviews, and upcoming expiries, providing timely reporting and escalation where required. • Support the standardization and continuous improvement of contract templates, clause libraries, and contract governance processes. Candidate Profile: • Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) or an equivalent legal qualification. • 5-7 years of experience in contract management, commercial contract review, and contract negotiation. • Strong knowledge of contract drafting, legal interpretation, and risk assessment. • Experience within banking, financial services, or other regulated industries is preferred. • Familiarity with procurement contracting, technology agreements, outsourcing arrangements, and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems. • Excellent negotiation, communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.
