Freight Systems Engineer

Responsibilities: • Reviews maintenance plans to ensure safe, sufficient, and cost-effective strategy is in-place. • Reviews, approves and support Asset Engineering in configuration changes of the systems. • Systems knowledge in particular performance issues of emerging technical trends, reliability problems and safety risks. • Works closely with other support managers to maintain key documentation along with engineering specifications, drawings, and vehicle configurations. • Lead root cause analysis and technical investigations. • Ensures adherence of all systems with the established SAR standards and best practices. • Continues monitoring and reporting of RAMS of freight rolling stock to detect deviations and recommend actions that improves RAMS performance. • Maintain and continually report freight rolling stock performance. • Initiate and implement design modifications that targets the advancement of RAMS & life-expectancy of fleets in accordance with change management processes. • Review and advise on safe measures to be taken when a maintenance deferral is requested. • Maintain Assets Criticality Assessments of freight rolling stock.
