📌 Key details • Location: Bahrain, on-site with project travel • Employment type: Full-time • Experience: 5+ years • Focus: DSP programming, sound system tuning, DMX lighting programming and calibration 💼 About the role We are hiring a hands-on Commissioning Engineer who can program, calibrate and tune both the sound and the lighting in our projects. You will work from design review through to final handover. You will build DSP files, tune loudspeaker systems, address and program lighting fixtures, and make sure every room meets its performance targets before we hand it to the client. 🔊 Audio – DSP programming and system calibration You will program, configure and commission leading DSP and amplifier platforms, including: • Q-SYS (QSC) – Q-SYS Designer, Core processors, amplifiers • Biamp – Tesira, Forte, Parlé (Tesira software) • BSS – Soundweb London (London Architect / Audio Architect) • Extron – DMP 128 Plus and DMP series (DSP Configurator) • Bose Professional – ControlSpace (ESP / EX series), PowerMatch • Symetrix – Radius, Prism, Edge (Composer) • Yamaha – MRX, DME, Rio series (ProVisionaire) • Shure – IntelliMix P300 / IntelliMix Room • Xilica, Allen & Heath AHM, Ashly • L-Acoustics – LA4X, LA7.16, LA12X (LA Network Manager, Soundvision) • K-array – Kommander amplifiers (K-framework) • d&b audiotechnik – D/DS amplifiers (R1, ArrayCalc) • Meyer Sound – Galaxy (Compass) • Powersoft – ArmoníaPlus • Lab.gruppen / Lake Processing 💡 Lighting – DMX programming and calibration You will patch, address and commission performance lighting fixtures from: • Robe, Martin (Harman), Chauvet Professional, ADJ (American DJ) • Clay Paky, Ayrton, Elation, GLP, High End Systems, Vari-Lite • ETC, Prolights, SGM, Astera, Portman You will program and operate these lighting control platforms: • Avolites (Titan – Quartz, Arena, Diamond) • MA Lighting grandMA2 / grandMA3 • ETC Eos family (Eos, Ion, Gio) • ChamSys MagicQ • High End Systems Hog 4 Lighting responsibilities: • Design and set up control networks using DMX512, RDM, Art-Net and sACN, including splitters, nodes and termination • Focus fixtures, calibrate and match colour, set dimming curves, and build palettes, presets and cue stacks • Integrate lighting with AV control, show control and architectural or house-light systems • Diagnose fixture faults, data errors and firmware issues on site 🛠️ Project delivery and client handover • Work closely with design, engineering and installation teams from start to finish • Run site acceptance tests and produce commissioning reports, settings backups and as-built documentation • Train client operators and technical staff on how to use the system • Provide post-handover support, re-tuning and maintenance visits • Work safely, including working at height, rigging awareness and electrical safety ✅ Requirements • 5+ years' hands-on experience commissioning Pro-AV audio and/or performance lighting systems. Strong experience in both is a big plus. • Proven programming experience on several of the DSP platforms listed above (Q-SYS, Biamp, BSS, Extron, Bose, Symetrix, etc.) • Strong understanding of acoustics, signal flow, gain structure and loudspeaker optimisation • Practical experience with acoustic measurement tools (Smaart, REW or similar) • Solid knowledge of DMX512, RDM, Art-Net and sACN, and of programming moving lights • Hands-on experience with at least one major lighting console (Avolites, grandMA, ETC, ChamSys, Hog) • Good networking knowledge: IP addressing, VLANs, multicast, managed switches and QoS • Able to read AV and lighting drawings, schematics and rack layouts • Willing to travel, including internationally, and to work flexible hours when projects need it 🤝 Soft skills • Excellent verbal and written communication in English • Confident dealing with clients, consultants, architects and end users • Able to explain technical concepts clearly to people without a technical background • Strong troubleshooting skills and calm under pressure on live sites and close to deadlines • Organised, detail-oriented, and disciplined about documentation • A team player who can also work independently on remote sites • Professional, punctual and represents the company well • Keen to keep learning as new technologies appear 🎓 Preferred certifications • Q-SYS Level 1 / Level 2 • Audinate Dante Level 2 / Level 3 • Biamp Tesira certification • Extron certification (AV Associate / XTP / Control) • Bose Professional / Symetrix training • L-Acoustics, d&b or Meyer Sound system training • Avolites, grandMA or ETC console training • AVIXA CTS / CTS-I / CTS-D • Smaart operator training ➕ Nice to have • Control system programming (Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS Control, AMX) • Experience with media servers and pixel mapping (Resolume, disguise, Madrix) • Background in theatre, broadcast, live events or touring • Valid driving licence 🌟 What we offer • Premium, technically demanding projects with world-leading audio and lighting brands • Manufacturer training and certification paths • Competitive salary + project and travel allowances • Health insurance and other benefits • A collaborative team where your technical judgement is trusted 📩 How to apply Apply with the Easy Apply button on LinkedIn, or send your CV and a short project portfolio to [email protected].
