Database Engineer / DBA (L2/L3)

About the Role Specialized Enterprise Systems (SES) is hiring a Database Engineer / DBA (L2/L3) at a client site in Saudi Arabia. The role is responsible for the administration, maintenance, monitoring, optimization, and support of enterprise database platforms within a mission-critical data center environment. The role provides advanced Level 2 and Level 3 support to ensure the availability, performance, security, and integrity of business-critical databases. Key Responsibilities • Administer, monitor, and maintain enterprise database environments, including Oracle Database, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and other supported database platforms • Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support for database-related incidents, service requests, and problem management activities • Ensure high availability, performance, reliability, and security of all database systems supporting mission-critical applications and services • Perform database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning activities • Monitor database health, capacity utilization, storage growth, and performance metrics, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues • Conduct database performance tuning and optimization, including query tuning, indexing strategies, workload analysis, and resource management • Manage backup, recovery, replication, clustering, and high-availability solutions to ensure business continuity and disaster recovery readiness Requirements • 7+ years of experience in enterprise database administration • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field • Willing to relocate to the client site in Saudi Arabia within 2 months • Standard shifts with 24x7 on-call rotation Skills and Technologies • Database Administration (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL) • Database Performance Tuning & Optimization • Backup, Recovery & Disaster Recovery • Database Security & Compliance • High Availability & Clustering Technologies • Replication & Data Protection Solutions • SQL Scripting & Automation • Capacity Planning & Performance Monitoring • Incident & Problem Management • Change & Release Management Preferred Certifications Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Microsoft SQL Server Certifications, PostgreSQL Professional Certification, MySQL Database Administrator Certification, ITIL Foundation Certification Show more Show less
