The Cyber Security Pre-Sales Engineer is responsible for supporting the Cyber Security Business Unit in identifying customer requirements, designing appropriate cybersecurity solutions, preparing technical proposals and RFI/RFP responses. Conducting product demonstrations and presentations, and supporting the sales team throughout the opportunity lifecycle. The role requires a combination of cybersecurity technical knowledge, solution architecture skills, vendor/product knowledge, and strong customer-facing communication. Key Responsibilities Area Responsibilities Customer Engagement Engage with customers to understand cybersecurity requirements, challenges, existing infrastructure, and business objectives. Requirement Analysis Conduct technical discovery sessions, workshops, assessments, and prepare cybersecurity questionnaires. Solution Design Design cybersecurity solutions based on customer requirements, security architecture, and available technologies. RFI/RFP/RFQ Review technical requirements, prepare compliance matrices, technical responses, BoQs, and solution descriptions. Presales Documentation Prepare technical proposals, Statements of Work, HLD/LLD inputs, architecture diagrams, presentations, and technical datasheets. Vendor Management Coordinate with cybersecurity vendors/distributors for technical validation, sizing, licensing, quotations, demos, and solution alignment. Product Demonstrations Conduct product demonstrations, technical presentations, workshops, and proof-of-concept activities. Solution Positioning Map customer requirements to appropriate cybersecurity technologies and recommend technically suitable solutions without over-engineering. BoQ & Sizing Support solution sizing, licensing requirements, subscription calculations, and preparation of technical BoQs. Technical Compliance Ensure proposed solutions comply with customer requirements, cybersecurity frameworks, and applicable regulatory requirements. Opportunity Support Work closely with Account Managers, Sales, Solution Architects, Project Managers, and vendors throughout the sales cycle. Handover Provide technical handover to implementation/project teams after opportunity award. Market Development Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity technologies, vendor roadmaps, threats, and market trends. Core Technical Areas The candidate should have practical presales knowledge across several of the following: • Network Security / NGFW • EDR / XDR / Endpoint Security • SIEM / SOAR • NDR / Network Security • Vulnerability Management • PAM / IAM / SSO / MFA • DLP • Email Security • Web Application Firewall (WAF) • Application Security – SAST / DAST / API Security • Zero Trust / ZTNA • Secure Access / VPN • Cloud Security • OT/ICS Security • DNS Security / DDI • Threat Intelligence • Data Security / Encryption • Security Assessment / Penetration Testing • Security Architecture and Hardening The candidate does not necessarily need to be an expert in every technology, but should have the minimum know-how of the technology. Education • Bachelor's degree in: Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Security, Network Engineering or a related technical discipline. Experience 3–8 years of relevant cybersecurity experience, preferably including: • Cybersecurity pre-sales • Security engineering • Network/security engineering • Cybersecurity consulting • Solution architecture • Systems integration • Technical sales engineering Technical Qualifications The candidate should have good working knowledge of: • TCP/IP and networking fundamentals • Routing and switching concepts • Firewalls and network security • Authentication and authorization • Active Directory / LDAP • VPN technologies • Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) • SSL/TLS • DNS • Windows and Linux security • Cloud security fundamentals • Security monitoring and logging • Vulnerability management • Cybersecurity frameworks and best practices Presales Skills The candidate should be capable of: • Reading and analyzing technical RFP/RFI requirements. • Developing technical compliance matrices. • Preparing BoQs and solution sizing. • Creating cybersecurity architecture diagrams. • Preparing technical proposals. • Developing customer presentations. • Conducting technical workshops. • Delivering product demonstrations. • Supporting PoCs. • Preparing Statements of Work. • Coordinating with vendors for technical and commercial requirements. • Translating customer business requirements into technical security solutions. Preferred Vendor Experience Experience with one or more major cybersecurity vendors would be highly desirable, for example: • Palo Alto Networks • Fortinet • F5 • Forcepoint • Symantec • Kaspersky • Trellix • CrowdStrike • SentinelOne • Tenable • Proofpoint • Zscaler • Cloudflare • Infoblox Vendor certifications are an advantage but should not be mandatory for every technology. Preferred Certifications One or more of the following: • Security+ • CEH • Fortinet NSE/FCP certifications • Palo Alto Networks certifications • Cisco Cybersecurity certifications • Microsoft Security certifications • PCNSA / PCNSE • F5 certifications • AZ-500 • SC-200 / SC-300 • Vendor-specific technical certifications Soft Skills A successful candidate should demonstrate: • Strong English communication skills. • Strong presentation skills. • Customer-facing confidence. • Analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Ability to understand complex technical requirements. • Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Strong documentation skills. • Ability to work under RFP/RFQ deadlines. • Ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously. • Strong teamwork and vendor coordination skills. • Commercial awareness and understanding of the pre-sales sales cycle. Saudi/KSA Market Experience — Preferred • Experience working with Saudi government, semi-government, enterprise, or critical infrastructure customers. • Understanding of NCA cybersecurity requirements and Saudi cybersecurity regulatory expectations. • Familiarity with Saudi procurement/RFP processes. • Experience working with local distributors and cybersecurity vendors in KSA. • Willingness to travel to customer sites when required.
3–8 years of relevant cybersecurity experience, preferably including: Cybersecurity pre-sales, Security engineering, Network/security engineering, Cybersecurity consulting, Solution architecture, Systems integration, Technical sales engineering.
