Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Architect Company: DXC Technology Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia Experience: 10–12 years Role Summary DXC Technology is seeking an experienced Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Architect to lead the architecture of enterprise cloud environments. You will own the architecture lifecycle, from strategy and reference designs through design governance, technical assurance, and continuous optimization. The role requires deep OCI expertise and the ability to translate business, security, and operational requirements into scalable, resilient, and cost-effective solutions. You will serve as a technical authority for complex cloud programs and guide engineering teams through implementation. Key Responsibilities Architecture Strategy and Governance • Define target-state OCI architectures aligned with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and technology roadmaps. • Establish architecture principles, standards, reusable patterns, and guardrails for OCI workloads and tenancies. • Lead Architecture Review Boards and design authority discussions, reviewing and approving technical designs. • Develop reference architectures, solution blueprints, and design patterns across OCI services. • Provide architecture governance and technical assurance across delivery teams, including review of non-functional requirements. Enterprise Cloud Design • Architect OCI landing zones and multitenancy models, including compartment hierarchies, tagging, IAM policies, and governance controls. • Design hub-and-spoke VCN architectures, DRG transit routing, FastConnect and IPSec hybrid connectivity, and multi-region peering. • Define security architectures using Cloud Guard, Security Zones, Vault, WAF, Bastion, and network segmentation. • Design data platforms using services such as Autonomous Database, Exadata Cloud Service, MySQL HeatWave, OCI Data Flow, and OCI Streaming. • Architect monitoring and operational frameworks using OCI Monitoring, Logging Analytics, APM, Management Agent, and integrations with tools such as Datadog, Splunk, or Grafana. Cloud Migration Architecture • Lead architecture workstreams for large-scale migrations, including migration waves, workload dependencies, sequencing, and appropriate migration patterns. • Design the identity, networking, security, and operations foundations needed before migration begins. • Define database migration approaches using OCI Database Migration Service, GoldenGate, Zero Downtime Migration, and Data Pump. • Plan application modernization through containerization on OKE, serverless services such as OCI Functions, or platform re-architecture. Cloud-Native and Platform Architecture • Design Kubernetes platforms on OKE, including cluster topology, namespace governance, ingress, service mesh, and multicluster approaches. • Architect CI/CD platforms using OCI DevOps, GitLab, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, and policy-as-code tools. • Define Infrastructure as Code standards for Terraform modules, state management, provider versioning, pipelines, and OCI Resource Manager. • Design event-driven and microservices architectures using OCI Streaming, OCI Queue, OCI Functions, and API Gateway. Oracle Application and Database Architecture • Architect OCI environments for Oracle E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, Fusion Middleware, and SOA Suite. • Design Oracle Database architectures using RAC, Data Guard, Autonomous Database, and Exadata Cloud Service, with high availability and disaster recovery aligned to Oracle Maximum Availability Architecture. • Define integration approaches between Oracle Cloud Applications and OCI-hosted or legacy workloads. • Design cross-platform integrations using Oracle Integration Cloud and API Gateway. FinOps and Optimization • Establish cost governance, showback or chargeback approaches, and budget alerts using OCI Cost Analysis and Budgets. • Review workload placement, right-sizing, and capacity options to improve performance and cost efficiency. • Define and track cloud efficiency measures, such as utilization, cost per transaction, and avoidable spend. Stakeholder and Delivery Leadership • Present architecture decisions, risks, and recommendations to senior technology and business stakeholders. • Contribute to proposals, RFP responses, estimates, and technical presentations. • Provide architectural oversight to delivery teams and resolve complex design issues. • Mentor senior cloud engineers and support technical capability development. Must-Have Experience • At least 10 years of enterprise IT experience, including 6 years in cloud architecture and 4 years working with OCI. • Experience as a lead or principal architect on a large-scale OCI migration, greenfield, or hybrid cloud program. • Expert knowledge of OCI Compute, Networking, Storage, IAM, Database, and Security services. • Hands-on experience designing OCI landing zones, multitenancy structures, and enterprise governance controls. • Strong Terraform expertise with the OCI provider, including reusable modules, state management, and CI-driven deployment. • Strong knowledge of Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, GoldenGate, Autonomous Database, and Exadata Cloud Service. • Experience designing Kubernetes platforms on OKE and cloud-native application patterns. • Knowledge of TOGAF or an equivalent enterprise architecture framework. • Experience leading architecture governance, design reviews, or design authority processes. • Ability to present complex technical decisions clearly to senior stakeholders. Preferred Experience • OCI Architect Professional, OCI Multi-Cloud Architect, or OCI DevOps Professional certification. • TOGAF, AWS Solutions Architect Professional, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification. • Experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications and Oracle Integration Cloud. • Experience with enterprise FinOps and cloud cost optimization. • Knowledge of OPA/Gatekeeper, HashiCorp Sentinel, Istio, Linkerd, ArgoCD, or Flux. • Familiarity with Oracle Maximum Availability Architecture and Oracle Maximum Security Architecture. • Experience with large-scale migration tools such as Oracle Cloud Migrations or RackWare. • Background in consulting, managed services, or systems integration.
