Main Objectives Lead and manage the day-to-day activities of the department, ensuring the highest standard of service to Customer Airlines and key stakeholders. Oversee and coordinate the activities of senior employees to meet agreed service levels. Responsible for staff management, operational decisions, safety compliance, and ensuring tasks are completed in line with Bahrain Airport Services regulations. Provide leadership and guidance to staff, support operational management, and achieve both operational and financial objectives. Main Duties • Direct, coordinate, and supervise the activities of assigned personnel in the department, ensuring day-to-day activities are carried out efficiently, in compliance with customer and regulatory requirements, while ensuring ground equipment updates meet international standards. Plans and reviews changes submitted by airlines and provides instructions to staff to ensure systems are followed. • Prepare and maintain the annual capital and manpower budget for the department, ensuring effective budget control, taking action as needed to bring costs within budget, and providing justifications for variances between actual expenditures and the authorized budget. Manages the delivery of airside operations in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to Bahrain Airport Services, customer airlines, and regulator procedures. • Ensure safety rules and regulations are observed by all personnel in the department, maintaining monthly reports, conducting regular meetings with airline management, and ensuring the required staffing levels are met to provide satisfactory service delivery in line with airline needs and safety standards. Ensures that the highest level of security, safety, and service standards are provided by the department. • Liaise with Civil Aviation and airport authorities on security, maintenance, and airside development matters, while leading, motivating, and developing employees to deliver excellent performance, ensuring alignment with both routine operations and emergency contingencies. Develops and maintains commercial relationships with airline customers, airport authorities, and relevant bodies. • Manage and report on agreed financial plans, ensuring cost management and exploitation of commercial opportunities to maximize airside contributions. Briefs direct reports on their roles and responsibilities at all times, ensuring clarity on the job duties and expected performance. • Ensure compliance with all Bahrain Airport Services and Airport Authority policies, maintaining the necessary procedures to meet Health & Safety standards. Communicates effectively with all stakeholders, both internal and external, and ensures that all reports are reliable and accurate, including those for the department head. • Manage detailed accident and incident reports, conducting thorough investigations and providing recommendations for corrective actions. Monitors performance and standards, taking corrective actions when necessary to maintain operational excellence and meet the required service standards. • Ensure that all manual procedures/work instructions are up to date and disseminated to all concerned parties, manage departmental disciplinary matters, ensuring records are maintained and actions align with HC rules. Achieves staffing levels according to budget requirements, ensures training is provided, and supports managers across Bahrain Airport Services. • Comply with Company's and airport authorities’ health, safety & security requirements. • Carries out other similar or related duties as directed by the management. Minimum Requirements Education: • Should hold a college degree (in Aviation Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Transportation, Business Administration or Equivalent) or a minimum of high school diploma level. Experience: • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in Airside Operations/Traffic and Airport work related to aircraft industry of which at least 5 years in managerial operations experience in monitoring operational activities in an Aviation Industry. Other Essential Requirements: • Must complete Aviation Operations related courses. • Comprehensive knowledge in Operations and high customer service standards. • Good Knowledge of written and spoken English. • Strong ability in developing effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to achieve objectives. • Excellent knowledge of principles and practices governing the operation of airports as determined by Bahrain Airport Authority/CAA/BAC. • Familiar with current developments and trends in the field of airport operations, maintenance and management. • Proven supervisory methods and techniques in managing airport operations and maintenance staff. • Computer-literate performer with extensive software proficiency covering wide variety of applications. • Identifying measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system. • Determining how money will be spent to get the work done, and accounting for these expenditures; planning to acquire the necessary financial resources to achieve objectives. • Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. • Exceptional listener and communicator who effectively conveys information verbally and in writing. • Flexible team player who thrives in environments requiring ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple concurrent projects. • Proven relationship-builder with unsurpassed interpersonal skills. • Goal-driven leader who maintains a productive climate and confidently motivates, mobilizes, and coaches employees to meet high-performance standards. • Personable professional whose strengths include cultural sensitivity and an ability to build rapport with a diverse workforce in multicultural settings. • Results-driven achiever with exemplary planning and organizational skills, along with a high degree of detail orientation. • Innovative problem-solver who can generate workable solutions and resolve complaints. • Resourceful team player who excels at building trusting relationships with customers and colleagues.
