Procurement Engineer – MEP

Job Purpose The Procurement Engineer – MEP will be responsible for the end-to-end procurement of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, and related MEP materials and equipment, ensuring the right quality, cost, specifications, and delivery timelines in line with project requirements. Key Responsibilities • Handle end-to-end procurement of MEP materials, equipment, and services based on project requirements, BOQs, specifications, and approved drawings. • Review purchase requisitions, technical specifications, BOQs, and material requirements received from project and engineering teams. • Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors for MEP products and services. • Float RFQs, obtain competitive quotations, prepare technical/commercial comparisons, and negotiate prices, payment terms, warranties, and delivery schedules. • Coordinate with Engineering and Project teams for technical evaluation, material approvals, samples, submittals, and approved makes. • Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) in accordance with approved budgets, specifications, and procurement procedures. • Procure materials including Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, and related MEP materials and equipment. • Monitor purchase orders and coordinate with suppliers, logistics, stores, and project teams to ensure timely delivery to project sites. • Track long-lead MEP items and proactively address potential supply or delivery delays that could impact project schedules. • Negotiate with suppliers to achieve cost savings while maintaining required technical specifications and quality standards. • Maintain procurement records, vendor databases, quotation comparisons, purchase orders, delivery schedules, and cost-saving reports. • Coordinate with Finance and suppliers regarding invoices, payment documentation, and commercial matters. • Support vendor performance evaluation based on quality, pricing, delivery performance, technical compliance, and service. • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, contractual requirements, project budgets, and applicable quality standards. Candidate Profile: • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. • Experience: 3–7 years of relevant procurement experience, preferably within MEP Industry. • Strong knowledge of MEP materials, equipment, specifications, brands, and suppliers. • Good understanding of BOQs, technical drawings, material submittals, and project specifications. • Strong supplier sourcing, negotiation, cost-analysis, and commercial evaluation skills. • Good knowledge of local and international procurement practices, logistics, and delivery coordination. • Experience working with ERP/procurement systems and strong proficiency in MS Excel. • UAE/GCC MEP procurement experience and established supplier network will be preferred.
