About the role Position Title: Consultant - Geologist (Exploration and Production Geology) Work Location: Kuwait Department: On-sync Energy Management Services Company. Job Responsibilities • Provide technical guidance and supervision to geologists and technicians and oversee assigned geological activities and projects. • Advise geologists on technical assignments, exploration studies, and wellsite activities, ensuring appropriate methods, procedures, and work priorities are followed. • Lead exploration and appraisal projects using modern geological methods and recommend optimal locations for exploration and appraisal wells. • Plan and supervise detailed geological studies and apply appropriate analytical techniques and geoscience technologies. • Review and evaluate geological studies, reports, models, and interpretations prepared by subordinate geologists to ensure technical accuracy and completeness. • Develop and evaluate geological and geostatistical models for play and prospect assessment. • Evaluate sedimentary basins to identify hydrocarbon accumulations and develop stratigraphic and structural maps, cross-sections, correlations, and integrated geological interpretations. • Analyze basin evolution, paleostructural development, paleogeography, depositional environments, facies distribution, and tectonic history. • Integrate subsurface geological and geophysical data to develop regional stratigraphic frameworks, identify new exploration plays, and generate drillable prospects. • Identify subtle traps, evaluate prospectivity, and assess the hydrocarbon potential of prospects and underdeveloped reservoirs. • Develop short- and long-term exploration strategies, including feasibility studies, exploration priorities, budgets, planning, and schedules. • Integrate data from multiple sources to support exploration decision-making and identify opportunities for new hydrocarbon discoveries. • Prepare specialized geological reports, maintain geological records, and ensure accurate and timely technical documentation. • Lead multidisciplinary teams comprising geologists, geophysicists, geochemists, petroleum engineers, and reservoir engineers. • Provide technical mentoring and knowledge transfer to geological personnel and support continuous improvement of exploration workflows. Qualification Requirements • PhD in Geology, Exploration Geology, Geoscience, or a related discipline. • Minimum 20 years of petroleum geology experience, including at least 15 years in Exploration & Production (E&P) geology. • Extensive experience in exploration and appraisal studies, prospect evaluation, basin analysis, and petroleum system interpretation. • Strong experience in geological and geostatistical modelling, structural and stratigraphic interpretation, and prospect generation. • Proven ability to integrate geological and geophysical data to develop regional frameworks and identify exploration opportunities. • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams comprising geologists, geophysicists, geochemists, petroleum engineers, and reservoir engineers. • International experience with major or independent E&P companies is preferred. • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, analytical, problem-solving, planning, communication, and stakeholder-management skills. • Ability to manage multiple technical projects and provide expert geological advice for complex exploration decisions. • Experience with Triassic and Paleozoic formations is an advantage.
