Prospective team members can expect to work on diverse projects that combine innovation, functionality, and aesthetic excellence. • Role Description – Civil Engineer (ID Fit-Out & Joinery) The Civil Engineer will be responsible for providing technical and engineering support for interior design (ID), fit-out, and joinery projects across Abu Dhabi and the UAE. The role requires a highly experienced Civil Engineer with a minimum of 7 years of proven UAE experience, with strong hands-on exposure to commercial, hospitality, residential, villa, office, and high-end interior fit-out projects. The Civil Engineer will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from design coordination and technical review through site execution, inspection, testing, and project completion. Responsibilities include preparing, reviewing, and coordinating civil engineering drawings, details, specifications, and technical submissions in accordance with project requirements, approved designs, UAE regulations, and authority standards. The position will work closely with Interior Designers, Architects, Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, QA/QC Engineers, Site Engineers, Joinery Teams, subcontractors, consultants, and clients to ensure that civil works are properly coordinated with architectural, MEP, structural, and interior fit-out requirements. Key responsibilities include conducting regular site inspections, monitoring construction progress and workmanship, identifying and resolving technical issues, reviewing contractor and subcontractor submissions, coordinating shop drawings and material approvals, and ensuring works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project schedules. The Civil Engineer will also support drainage, stormwater management, waterproofing, wet-area construction, structural interfaces, floor and wall systems, concrete works, and other civil elements associated with ID fit-out and joinery projects. The role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to identify constructability issues and provide practical engineering solutions. The successful candidate will contribute to value engineering, cost optimization, quality improvement, constructability, and risk reduction, while maintaining project safety, quality, and compliance requirements. The Civil Engineer will also assist with authority requirements, inspections, approvals, testing, snagging, and final handover documentation. • Key Responsibilities • Lead and coordinate civil engineering activities for ID Fit-Out, Interior Design, and Joinery projects. • Prepare, review, and coordinate civil drawings, details, specifications, calculations, and technical documents. • Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, technical submissions, and as-built drawings. • Coordinate civil works with architectural, interior design, MEP, structural, and joinery requirements. • Conduct regular site inspections and monitor workmanship, progress, and compliance with approved drawings and specifications. • Identify construction constraints, design conflicts, and technical issues and provide practical solutions. • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to resolve technical matters. • Monitor civil works including concrete, blockwork, plastering, waterproofing, flooring, drainage, wet areas, external works, and related fit-out activities. • Oversee and coordinate drainage and stormwater management works, where applicable. • Ensure compliance with UAE building regulations, authority requirements, project specifications, and applicable international standards. • Review project quantities, materials, construction methods, and technical proposals to support value engineering and cost optimization. • Monitor project schedules and coordinate resources to support timely completion. • Participate in inspections, testing, snagging, rectification, and project handover activities. • Coordinate with the QA/QC team to ensure civil works comply with approved quality standards. • Assist in preparing technical reports, inspection requests, progress reports, and project documentation. • Provide technical guidance to site teams and support the resolution of construction-related issues. • Ensure all works are executed with appropriate consideration for quality, safety, constructability, cost, and programme requirements. • Qualifications & Requirements • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline. • Minimum 7 years of professional Civil Engineering experience in the UAE is mandatory. • Minimum 7 years of strong hands-on experience specifically in ID Fit-Out, Interior Design, and/or Joinery projects in the UAE. • Proven experience working on commercial, hospitality, residential, luxury villa, office, retail, or high-end interior fit-out projects. • Strong understanding of civil works associated with interior fit-out and joinery projects, including structural interfaces, concrete works, blockwork, waterproofing, flooring, wet areas, drainage, and related construction activities. • Strong ability to read, interpret, review, and coordinate civil, architectural, structural, MEP, ID, and joinery drawings. • Experience in reviewing and coordinating ID fit-out and joinery shop drawings is highly preferred. • Strong knowledge of UAE building codes, regulations, authority requirements, construction standards, and permitting processes. • Familiarity with Abu Dhabi authorities and approval processes is an advantage. • Strong knowledge of drainage, stormwater management, waterproofing, and wet-area requirements. • Experience in site supervision, inspections, technical coordination, snagging, and project handover. • Proficiency in AutoCAD and strong working knowledge of MS Office. Knowledge of Civil 3D and other relevant engineering/design software is an advantage. • Ability to review technical calculations, specifications, materials, and construction methodologies. • Strong understanding of QA/QC requirements and construction quality standards. • Ability to identify design and construction conflicts and provide practical, cost-effective engineering solutions. • Strong project planning, coordination, problem-solving, and organizational skills. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, architects, interior designers, project managers, contractors, subcontractors, and site teams. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, site-based fit-out environment and manage multiple project requirements simultaneously. • UAE driving license is an advantage. • Professional engineering membership, certification, or relevant UAE engineer
