Previous experience in the construction industry will be an advantage to you. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Electrical Engineer role based in Umm al-Quwain, United Arab Emirates. The Electrical Engineer will design, review, and modify electrical systems and layouts for civil, architectural, and MEP projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards. Daily responsibilities include preparing technical drawings and specifications, performing load calculations, coordinating power distribution and power systems, and supporting project teams during planning, installation, testing, and commissioning. The role involves close collaboration with project managers, architects, mechanical engineers, and site teams to resolve technical issues and maintain project quality and timelines. The Electrical Engineer will also assist in preparing documentation, participating in inspections, and supporting continuous improvement in safety and performance. Qualifications • Candidates should possess skills in Electrical Engineering and Electricity, with a strong understanding of fundamental electrical principles and applications. • Candidates should possess skills in Electrical Design, including the ability to develop drawings, specifications, and calculations for building and MEP projects. • Candidates should possess skills in Power Distribution and Power Systems, covering system configuration, load analysis, protection, and reliability. • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field; advanced certifications or professional registration (e.g., PE, equivalent) are an advantage. • Experience in construction or MEP environments, preferably within the GCC region or similar markets. • Knowledge of relevant electrical codes and standards, and familiarity with industry design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, electrical design tools). • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work effectively on-site within multidisciplinary teams. • Good written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to interpret technical documents and prepare clear reports and documentation. • Commitment to safety, quality, and adherence to project schedules; willingness to be present on construction sites as required.
