Our continued growth has created an opportunity for an experienced Accountant to join our Dubai-based finance team. About the Role This is a broad and hands-on accounting position, responsible for supporting the full general accounting function and ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting and strong financial controls. The role will work across general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, project accounting, reconciliations, cash flow, tax and compliance, audit support, budgeting, forecasting and finance process improvement. You will work closely with internal stakeholders across the business, providing reliable financial information and analysis to support effective decision-making and project performance. Key Responsibilities • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure transactions are accurately recorded • Prepare and review journals, accruals, prepayments, payroll journals, depreciation and month-end adjustments • Complete month-end and year-end close activities within required deadlines • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, including bank, intercompany, accruals, prepayments, receivables, payables and fixed assets • Prepare financial statements, management reports, variance analysis and financial commentary • Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management • Support project accounting across the project lifecycle, including revenue, costs, WIP, accrued revenue and deferred revenue • Assist with the application of AASB 15 revenue recognition principles for multi-phase projects • Reconcile project revenue and costs and support project financial reporting • Work closely with AP and AR teams to ensure accurate coding, processing and period allocation • Support working capital management, including debtor and creditor reconciliations and ageing analysis • Assist with tax, statutory, regulatory and audit requirements • Support banking, treasury and short-term cash flow forecasting activities • Contribute to finance system improvements, automation and process optimisation • Maintain appropriate documentation, controls and audit trails • Provide guidance, support and knowledge sharing to junior finance team members About You We’re looking for an Accountant who brings: • Strong general accounting experience across GL, reconciliations, month-end close and financial reporting • Sound knowledge of accounting standards, internal controls and compliance • Experience with project accounting and revenue recognition is highly desirable • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems • The ability to investigate variances and resolve complex reconciliations • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities • Excellent communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders across the business • Professional judgement, confidentiality and a high level of integrity • A proactive, hands-on approach with a genuine interest in continuous improvement The Opportunity This is an opportunity to join a growing specialist consultancy working on some of the Middle East’s most prestigious natural stone projects.
