The Cashier is responsible for accurately processing customer orders and payments at the counter, handling cash, cards, and digital transactions, and issuing receipts. Daily tasks include greeting guests, answering basic questions about menu items, maintaining a clean and organized checkout area, and coordinating with service and kitchen staff to ensure smooth order flow. The Cashier also assists with balancing the cash drawer at the end of shifts, reporting any discrepancies, and following all company policies regarding cash handling and customer service. The role may involve supporting other front-of-house duties, such as restocking items near the counter and helping manage takeaway orders. Qualifications • Strong customer service skills, including clear communication, professional behavior, and a friendly, welcoming demeanor. • Basic cash handling and point-of-sale (POS) skills, with the ability to process payments accurately and manage receipts and change. • Attention to detail and basic numeracy skills to reconcile cash drawers and verify transaction accuracy. • Ability to work in a fast-paced café environment, manage queues efficiently, and prioritize tasks during peak hours. • Reliable time management and the ability to work a full-time schedule, including weekends or evenings as needed. • Basic English language skills; additional language abilities commonly used in Dubai are an advantage. • Previous experience in a café, restaurant, or retail environment as a cashier or customer-facing staff is preferred but not required. • High school diploma or equivalent is beneficial; training will be provided for the right candidate.
