About the Role We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Project Manager / Assistant Operations Manager to oversee construction project delivery and support overall operational excellence. The role will be responsible for managing multiple construction projects, ensuring successful execution within approved timelines, budgets, quality standards, and safety requirements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the UAE construction industry with strong expertise in project management, site operations, resource planning, subcontractor coordination, cost control, and stakeholder management. The role requires a strong leader who can drive project performance, improve operational efficiency, and ensure successful project completion from mobilization to handover. Responsibilities Project Planning & Execution • Develop and implement comprehensive project execution plans, including schedules, resource allocation, procurement requirements, and project milestones. • Oversee the complete project lifecycle from planning, mobilization, construction execution, testing, commissioning, and final handover. • Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion in line with contractual requirements and client expectations. • Identify project risks, delays, and challenges, and implement effective mitigation strategies. Construction Operations Management • Oversee daily construction operations across multiple project sites. • Ensure projects are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and industry standards. • Coordinate with project teams, site engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery. • Provide operational guidance and support to project teams to achieve project objectives. Site & Resource Management • Monitor site performance, productivity, manpower planning, equipment utilization, and material availability. • Ensure effective allocation of resources across projects to maximize operational efficiency. • Conduct regular site visits to review progress, quality, safety compliance, and operational challenges. • Support project teams in resolving technical and execution-related issues. Cost Control & Commercial Management • Monitor project budgets, project costs, and overall financial performance. • Review project variations, claims, and additional works to ensure commercial objectives are achieved. • Work closely with the commercial and finance teams to maintain cost control and profitability. • Identify opportunities for cost optimization and operational improvements. Quality, Health & Safety Compliance • Ensure all construction activities comply with approved quality standards, project specifications, and company procedures. • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE requirements across all project sites. • Support implementation of quality assurance and quality control procedures. • Review project performance and implement corrective actions where required. Team Leadership & Development • Lead, mentor, and support Project Managers, Engineers, Supervisors, and site teams. • Establish clear responsibilities, performance expectations, and project objectives. • Conduct regular project review meetings and operational coordination meetings. • Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. Client & Stakeholder Management • Maintain effective relationships with clients, consultants, authorities, subcontractors, and key stakeholders. • Act as a senior point of contact for project-related matters. • Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, challenges, and solutions. • Ensure client satisfaction through effective communication and timely delivery. Operations Support • Support the Operations Manager/General Manager in improving construction processes and operational performance. • Develop strategies to enhance project delivery, productivity, and resource utilization. • Assist in business planning, project forecasting, and operational reporting. • Contribute to the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures. Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline. • Minimum 10+ years of experience in construction project management, preferably within UAE contracting companies. • Proven experience managing large-scale construction projects from inception to completion. • Strong background in civil construction, structural works, infrastructure, or building projects. • Experience managing multiple projects and leading project teams. • Strong knowledge of construction methods, project controls, and contract management. • UAE construction experience with knowledge of local regulations and authority requirements is preferred.
