About the Job An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head Chef to join Shimmers in Jumeirah Mina Al Salam. The main duties and responsibilities of this role include: • Create innovative and diverse menus that reflect culinary trends, dietary preferences, and the restaurant's concept, ensuring a balance of flavors, textures, and presentation. • Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants, assigning tasks, providing training, and ensuring smooth operations during service. • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and hygiene practices to maintain a clean and safe working environment. • Mentor and develop kitchen staff, providing ongoing training, feedback, and opportunities for career advancement to foster a skilled and motivated team. • Collaborate with restaurant management, suppliers, and other departments to coordinate kitchen operations, plan special events, and achieve overall business objectives. • Stay updated on industry trends, culinary techniques, and customer preferences, seeking opportunities to enhance menu offerings, streamline operations, and elevate the dining experience. About You The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications: • Minimum 8 years of progressive culinary experience within luxury hospitality and restaurants. • Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality, Food & Beverage or another relevant field. • Strong leadership and team management skills. • Strong operational and financial awareness, with experience in managing food costs, controlling waste, supporting budgeting processes, and optimising kitchen efficiency.
