Role Description The Senior Quantity Surveyor is a full-time hybrid role based in Abu Dhabi, with flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements. The role involves managing cost planning and control across project lifecycles, including preparing and updating budgets, conducting detailed cost analyses, and monitoring financial performance. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and reviewing Bills of Quantities (BOQ), evaluating tenders, assessing contractor claims, and supporting contract administration. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will prepare regular cost reports, advise project teams on cost risks and opportunities, and collaborate closely with design, engineering, and project management colleagues to ensure commercial compliance. The role also includes mentoring junior team members, contributing to process improvement, and supporting best practices in quantity surveying and cost management. Qualifications • Candidates should possess strong cost management and cost planning skills, including experience with budgeting, estimating, and lifecycle cost analysis. • Candidates should possess solid cost control and cost reporting skills, including tracking project expenditures, forecasting, and preparing periodic financial reports. • Candidates should possess thorough expertise in BOQ preparation and review, including measurement, pricing, and documentation in line with relevant standards. • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g., MRICS or equivalent) is an advantage. • Minimum of 7–10 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, preferably within consultancy environments and large-scale building or infrastructure projects. • Strong knowledge of procurement methods, contract forms (e.g., FIDIC), and claims evaluation, with proven negotiation and stakeholder management skills. • Proficiency in quantity surveying and cost management software, MS Excel, and project management tools, with strong analytical and numerical abilities. • Effective communication skills, ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, and a commitment to ethical, inclusive, and safety-conscious practices.
