JOB TITLE & JOB DESCRIPTION: SITE STRUCTURAL ENGINEER John R Harris & Partners – Dubai is currently looking for a Sr. Site Engineer - Civil to join our growing Supervision team to support recent project appointments in UAE. The Site Engineer will be responsible for overseeing on-site civil and structural works and ensuring the execution of construction activities aligns with structural design specifications, codes, and safety standards. The role involves close collaboration with architects, contractors, and project managers to ensure timely and quality delivery of structural components across commercial, residential, or infrastructure projects in the UAE. KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Supervise and inspect on-site structural work for compliance with approved designs, specifications, and local regulations (DM, ADM, etc.). • Coordinate with design consultants, contractors, and other site engineers to resolve structural issues. • Review and approve civil/structural shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals. • Monitor progress and provide regular updates to the Resident Engineer / Project Manager or engineering lead. • Conduct site inspections and quality checks on concrete works, rebar placement, formwork, etc. • Ensure that construction activities meet health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements. • Participate in site meetings and communicate project milestones, issues, and resolutions. • Assist in preparing progress reports, inspection reports, and structural documentation for authorities when required. REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s is a plus). • 10-12 years of civil/structural engineering experience, with at least 6 years on UAE projects. • Familiarity with UAE building codes and municipality standards (Dubai Municipality, Abu Dhabi DMT, etc.). • Knowledge in structural analysis/design software (ETABS, SAFE, STAAD Pro, AutoCAD, Revit) is plus. • Strong understanding of concrete and steel construction practices. • Excellent communication and site coordination skills. • Valid UAE driving license (preferred). • SOE membership (advantageous or may be required for authority approvals). PREFERRED SKILLS: • Knowledge of local permit procedures and approval processes. • Experience in building projects. • Fluent in English; Arabic is plus. Show more Show less
