About CollectiveSpend CollectiveSpend is the company behind METIS, the AI procurement operating system for tail spend. Tail spend is the procurement blind spot: up to a fifth of what an enterprise buys, most of its purchasing complexity, and almost no visibility. Today the same slow process is used to buy a coffee machine and a nuclear reactor, so companies overpay and procurement teams drown in low-value work. We make that spend quicker, cheaper, and simpler to manage. METIS brings together three things in one platform: a curated marketplace of prenegotiated catalogs, self-service AI agents that source, score, and negotiate, and a fully managed Buying Desk that handles requests end to end. Buyer-side and seller-side agents negotiate inside each client's rules, turning days of email into minutes and typically delivering 5 to 25 percent savings with a 48-hour cycle time. We are MEA-native, with a network of more than 16,000 vetted regional suppliers built over six years. We are already live with leading multinational enterprises and UAE sovereign and government entities, across sectors from industrial and consumer goods to ports, logistics, and central banking, with 100 percent client retention. Our model pairs an AI agent fleet with human experts, and METIS is being built to run tail spend autonomously. These roles are how we get there. The role This is a player-coach role, not a desk job. You will lead our Buying Desk team and do the work alongside them, hands dirty every day: sourcing, negotiating with suppliers, onboarding them, and building catalogs. You own the service side of METIS end to end, setting the pace as our highest-frequency doer while lifting the standard of everyone around you. You are the client's other best friend, the person who makes sure what they receive meets and exceeds expectations. What you will own • Lead by doing. Set the standard as the highest-output person on the team. You lead the Buying Desk and you are in the work with them every day, not above it. • Negotiate, hands dirty. Personally run supplier negotiations and close better terms. This is daily, high-frequency work, not occasional escalation. • Onboard suppliers. Find, vet, and onboard new suppliers yourself, and bring them onto METIS so the marketplace deepens with every cycle. • Build catalogs and contracts. Create and maintain catalogs and contracts that are clean, accurate, competitive, and ready for the platform. You build these yourself, not just review them. • Run the Buying Desk. Own incoming buying requirements end to end, with speed and accuracy clients can rely on. • Own service quality. Be accountable for the service experience. What the client receives should consistently exceed expectations. • Grow the team. Coach the Buying Desk team by example, lifting their output and quality as we scale. • Drive toward autonomy. Use AI to do procurement faster and better, and help us move toward agents that handle routine work while the team directs and trains them. Prove it. Do not just talk about it. AI is the backbone of CollectiveSpend, not a side project. We are building toward a fully autonomous procurement platform, and these roles will evolve from doing the work to directing and training the agents that do it. Talk is cheap. To be considered, you must show us working proof of how you use AI in your craft: a demo, a dashboard, an agent, an automation, a workflow, or a before-andafter. What we are looking for • Strong procurement or sourcing experience across indirect and tail spend, with a track record of hands-on negotiation wins. • A high-frequency doer who leads from the front. You want to do the work, not just manage people who do it. • Deep, practical experience onboarding suppliers, negotiating, contracting, and building catalogs in the region. You have personally done these, not just overseen them. • Ability to lead and lift a small team by example while carrying your own heavy workload. • Service mindset.
