Senior Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

Requirements

• - Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related field
• - Minimum 10 years of professional experience in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management or Commercial Management
• - Proven experience on large-scale construction projects
• - Strong knowledge of cost planning, estimating, BOQ preparation, tendering and procurement
• - Solid experience with contract administration, variations, claims and final accounts
• - Good understanding of FIDIC and other standard forms of construction contracts
• - Experience working with contractors and/or consultancy companies is highly preferred
• - Proficiency in relevant cost management and quantity surveying software
• - Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills
• - Professional working proficiency in English

Responsibilities

• - Prepare detailed cost estimates, cost plans and project budgets
• - Prepare, review and manage Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and quantity take-offs
• - Conduct cost analysis and evaluate project expenditures against approved budgets
• - Manage the valuation of works, interim payments and final accounts
• - Review and assess variations, change orders, claims and contractual notices
• - Support tendering and procurement activities, including the evaluation of bids and subcontractor proposals
• - Negotiate and manage commercial aspects with contractors, subcontractors and suppliers
• - Monitor project costs and prepare regular cost reports and forecasts for management
• - Identify commercial and financial risks and propose appropriate mitigation measures
• - Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and project commercial procedures
• - Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Procurement and Finance teams throughout the project lifecycle
