Department: Operations Reporting To: Shift Supervisor / Shift Charge Engineer Job Summary Monitor and control unit/plant operating parameters and coordinate with other operators regarding all related activities that affect plant operations. Roles & Responsibilities Comply with safety rules and regulations and be familiar with firefighting equipment in the assigned area. Be familiar with plant P&IDs, SOPs, work instructions, operation and control logic, emergency operating procedures, and other related documents. Monitor all unit parameters and record periodic readings on log sheets. Summarize all activities and events that occur during the shift in the logbook. Follow the instructions of the Shift Charge Engineer and Shift Supervisor and coordinate with other operators regarding all operational activities. Remain alert and take prompt action during abnormal operating conditions. Coordinate and ensure Lock Out & Tag Out (LOTO) during equipment isolation for maintenance in accordance with the approved Permit to Work (PTW) procedure. Normalize equipment after cancellation when instructed. Inspect the unit and auxiliaries during the shift to ensure all equipment parameters remain within acceptable limits. Report any abnormalities to the Shift Supervisor / Shift Charge Engineer. Perform periodic protection tests under the supervision of the Shift Charge Engineer / Supervisor and maintain the required records. Perform equipment changeovers according to established schedules. Raise work requests or defect notifications for faulty equipment and follow up on defect rectification. Assist in the training and familiarization of new operators. Report near misses and implement prescribed risk controls. Report deviations related to the Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Management System. Ensure proper waste disposal measures are followed. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Specifications Educational Desired Diploma in Engineering is a must. Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Minimum Experience Minimum 5 years of experience in the same position. Required Skills General awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety, and Environmental Management System principles. Knowledge of waste identification, classification, and disposal. Knowledge of emission monitoring. Knowledge of the environmental and health impacts of chemicals used in the plant. Knowledge of firefighting equipment. Knowledge of PPE and safety equipment. Knowledge of first-aid measures. Good knowledge of Power/Water Plant operational activities. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Analytical skills. Hazard Risk Assessment capability. Knowledge of Aspect Impact Assessment. Basic computer skills. Desired Certification / Job Specific Skill / Training ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 awareness/working knowledge is preferred.
