Job Description

The Adult Intensive Care Unit Nurse will work as part of the nursing and multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based, holistic care to patients throughout their pathway of care. The role involves close monitoring of patients’ vital signs, providing timely emergency response interventions, and ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of life support systems. The nurse will contribute to the highest standards of patient safety, comfort, and recovery in line with established protocols and international best practices.

Requirements

UAE Medical Health Authority License.
Bachelor’s degree in nursing or Degree in Nursing (minimum two years course duration) And Registration as a Registered Nurse from Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia.
Has worked in hospital or similar setting for at least 2 years.
Resuscitation Certificate as per the specialty& Demonstrable ongoing and active Continues Personal Development (CPD)
Supports quality patient care by showing empathy, maintaining patient dignity, and following proper protocols.
Supports and guides junior team members, offering advice and assistance if required.
Ability to handle sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality and discretion, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
Proficient in basic computer applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), with the ability to manage digital documentation and communication effectively.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and stakeholders.
Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, ensuring goals are met in dynamic environments.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage unexpected issues and identify when to escalate.

Responsibilities

Deliver a high standard of evidence-based care to patients in the Adult Intensive Care Unit.
Manage patients requiring Level 3 critical care, including but not limited to:
- Advanced airway management
- Ventilation
- Invasive line management
- Inotropic support
- Continuous Veno-Venous Hemodiafiltration (CVVHDF)
- Management of critical emergencies
Perform safe management of central and arterial lines.
Obtain and interpret arterial and venous blood gases.
Provide expert care for patients on ventilators and with advanced airways.
Deliver effective pain management, including PCA (Patient-Controlled Analgesia)/PCE(Patient-Controlled Epidural Analgesia).
Support the implementation of nursing and organizational strategies, upholding professional standards and values.
Work flexibly across the organization to maintain safe staffing levels and support professional development needs.
Participate in nursing audits as required.
Report adverse incidents in line with policy and actively participate in investigations.
Maintain accurate, legible, and contemporaneous patient health records in compliance with record-keeping standards.
