Beginning of the main content section.Return to the home pagePrintable Format Job Description - Senior Controller- Bus Operation Excellence (26003519)Job Description Senior Controller- Bus Operation Excellence - (26003519) Job Description Job Purpose:Perform field-level monitoring, safety checks, operational support, and customer-related tasks to ensure bus service quality, cleanliness, asset protection, and compliance with HSE and operational standards across all bus service locations.Roles & Responsibilities:Strategy• Ensure Occupational Health & Safety in BD premises by preventing employee accidents through audits, hazard identification, awareness, and enforcement of safety compliance.• Support Environmental Compliance & Sustainability by ensuring BD operations align with PTA, RTA, and city sustainability goals and environmental targets.• Enforce Crisis Management & Business Continuity protocols by applying approved procedures, ensuring operational readiness, and supporting HSE audits and preparedness measures.• Launch and support innovative initiatives for quality and HSE to enhance work standards and pursue recognition through external awards or certifications.Operations• Ensure Passenger & Public Safety in bus services by monitoring compliance, identifying public safety-related risks, and implementing awareness programs to reduce accidents.• Ensure Bus Driver Safety Compliance by tracking adherence to safety standards, monitoring violations, and recommending corrective actions.• Execute the approved HSE plan across bus operations and ensure compliance with HSE training, internal and external awareness sessions, and mock emergency drill execution.• Conduct bus safety and quality compliance inspections by performing proactive checks, reporting faults, analyzing trends, and preventing thermal incidents.• Support corrective actions and improvement initiatives based on customer feedback, field reports, and service quality findings.• Coordinate operational instructions and recommendations with relevant teams to ensure consistency in service delivery.• Provide field-based responses to social media teams by verifying customer concerns on-site and escalating issues requiring investigation.• Conduct continuous field visits to monitor bus driver behavior, safeguard authority assets, and prevent unauthorized usage.• Inspect buses, stations, and facilities for cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness and ensure timely corrective actions.• Coordinate with the control center on bus movements, breakdowns, accidents, and operational issues impacting efficiency.• Monitor HSE practices and equipment during field visits and support internal audits, drills, and safety-awareness sessions.• Conduct proactive inspections to identify safety risks, violations, and environmental or operational hazards and escalate findings for action.• Act as the Bus Department employee happiness team coordinator by planning initiatives, conducting employee needs studies, implementing corrective actions, and coordinating with the agency’s happiness teams to apply higher committee recommendations.Product / Process Improvement• Review bus service delivery processes by analyzing field data, monitoring service gaps, and following up on improvement actions and efficiency enhancements.• Monitor the ERM system, update risk plans, and support continuous readiness across buses, stations, and facilities.Physical Working Conditions• Role operates primarily on-site with continuous field visits to buses, stations, facilities, and operational areas.
