Beginning of the main content section.Return to the home pagePrintable Format Job Description - Senior Traffic Systems Operator - Traffic Management Centers (26000187)Job Description Senior Traffic Systems Operator - Traffic Management Centers - (26000187) Job Description Strategy· Contribute operational insights to Supervisors to support improvements in system performance and congestion management.· Ensure alignment with RTA’s SOPs, safety standards, and mobility enhancement strategies during daily operations and emergency events.Operations· Continuously monitor traffic flow and incidents using iTraffic, UTC/SCOOT, Supervisory· Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), CCTV, and predictive modules to identify and act on road congestion or events.· Execute incident response plans and update system records in iTraffic and Maximo as per SOPs and KPI targets.· Monitor and operate signalized intersections, tunnels, and tram-related networks to ensuresafety and service continuity.· Escalate critical incidents, equipment faults, and traffic anomalies to the Supervisor andconcerned stakeholders using approved communication channels.· Coordinate with control centers such as ECCD and external agencies including Dubai Police, Civil Defense, and Ambulance for incident resolution.· Monitor and verify travel time dissemination via DMS and smart apps to guide road users inreal time.· Record shift handovers and traffic observations in Maximo or the approved enterprise system to maintain operational transparency.Product/Process Improvement· Report system-level irregularities, recurring congestion patterns, and equipment failures for procedural improvement.· Recommend response plan enhancements and contribute to the refinement of incident management modules within iTraffic.· Ensure optimal use of predictive analytics modules and support efforts to minimize secondary incidents during major events.Physical Working Conditions· Required to work in a 24/7 shift-based environment within the Traffic Management Center· and associated control rooms.
