Beginning of the main content section.Return to the home pagePrintable Format Job Description - Chief Conservator of Antiquities (24000081)Job Description Chief Conservator of Antiquities - (24000081) Job Description § المشاركة في عمليات إعداد الميزانية السنوية للقسم وضمان توفير كل الدعم اللازم من تقارير او بيانات مطلوبة لمدير القسم. § تطوير أنظمة عمل وبرامج الترميم المتبعة على نطاق حكومة دبي ورفع التوصيات او الملاحظات التطويرية للمسؤول المباشر. § إجراء دراسات المقارنات المعيارية عن مختلف مواضيع وبرامج ترميم الآثار المحلية والإقليمية والعالمية لتحديد آليات التطوير والتحسين على السياسات والعمليات. § مراجعة وتطوير وتوفير الدعم الفني في قوانين ولوائح وتشريعات وبرامج ترميم الآثار التي سيتم تطبيقها وتوفير التقارير الدورية لمدير القسم. § المشاركة كعضو في فريق العمل واللجان مثل فريق تقييم الآثار في حكومة دبي لتوفير الآراء والمدخلات الفنية بناء على تعليمات مدير قسم الترميم. § توفير الدعم الفني والتدريبي للموظفين في تطبيق برامج ترميم الآثار. § الاشراف على تقديم أنشطة المحافظة الوقائية (البيئية، والمراقبة والتحكم، والإدارة البسيطة والتخزين) لرفع المعايير في إدارة الآثار. § المساهمة في تطوير وتخطيط وتنفيذ مشاريع وأنشطة المحافظة الوقائية على النحو المتفق عليه مع مدير قسم الحفاظ على الآثار وتقديم توصيات لتحسين السياسات والإجراءات حسب الضرورة. § تخطيط وجدولة إجراءات تقييم المحافظة في إدارة الآثار في هيئة الثقافة والمواقع الأثرية التابعة لها من أجل تحديد أي خطر محتمل بشأن الحفاظ على الآثار ومنع التدهور على المدى الطويل والإبلاغ عنه في الوقت المناسب. § دراسة خطط الطوارئ والظروف البيئية ووضع مبادئ توجيهية ومعايير للمحافظة الوقائية على القطع الأثرية بالتنسيق مع أمناء الآثار، ويتضمن ذلك ضمان صياغة السياسات والإجراءات والمبادئ التوجيهية بوضوح وتعميمها على الموظفين في الآثار والمواقع التراثية لإدارة المخاطر التي قد تؤدي إلى إتلاف الآثار مثل الحرائق والمواد الموجودة في محيط المواقع الأثرية ومصادر الضوء والرطوبة والصيانة وما إلى ذلك بصورة جيدة. § إجراء زيارات ميدانية لمراقبة وتقييم الامتثال لتدابير المحافظة الوقائية من أجل التحسين المستمر للحفاظ على الآثار ولمنع تعرض الآثار لأي ضرر أو تلف. § إجراء بحث للبقاء على اطلاع على أفضل إجراءات ومعايير المحافظة الوقائية وتقديم توصيات للتحسين عبر الآثار والمواقع الأثرية في هيئة الثقافة حسب الاقتضاء. § توفير التدريب لموظفين الإدارة والمواقع الأثرية والفنيين والموظفين العاملين على نطاق أوسع وإرشادهم بشأن تنفيذ إرشادات المحافظة الوقائية للتعامل مع القطع الأثرية وتثبيتها والعناية بها وتخزينها، لزيادة الوعي بأهمية الحفاظ على الآثار. § تقييم طلبات نقل القطع الأثرية لتحديد مدى ملاءمتها للسفر وتوثيق حالتها، وإبلاغ المسجل والموظفين المعنيين الآخرين بأي اعتبارات خاصة للتعبئة والشحن. أداء مهام ومسؤوليات أخرى مرتبطة بالوظيفة وكما هو مكلف به. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Conservation and Restoration, or Engineering, or Archaeology or an equivalent field from an accredited university. 6-8 years of relevant work experience.

Participate in annual budgeting for the department and ensure delivery of necessary reports and data to the section head. Develop operating systems and restoration programs for the Dubai government, and raise recommendations or notes for the supervisor. Conduct benchmarking studies on various conservation topics and programs to identify mechanisms for policy and process improvement. Review, develop, and provide technical support for laws, regulations, and programs related to artifact conservation, and provide periodic reports to the section head. Serve as a team member on committees such as the Dubai Government Heritage Assessment Team to provide technical input as per the restoration division director's instructions. Provide technical and training support for staff in applying conservation programs. Supervise preventive conservation activities (environmental, monitoring and control, simple management and storage) to raise standards in heritage management. Contribute to the development, planning and execution of preventive conservation projects and activities in alignment with the Preservation of Antiquities division head and offer policy/process improvement recommendations as needed. Plan and schedule artifact conservation assessment procedures to identify potential risks to artifact preservation and prevent long-term deterioration, reporting in a timely manner. Study emergency plans and environmental conditions to establish guidelines and standards for preventive conservation of artifacts, coordinating with artifact archivists, ensuring policies and procedures are clear and disseminated to staff in archaeology and heritage sites for risk management. Conduct field visits to monitor and evaluate compliance with preventive conservation measures for ongoing improvement and to prevent damage to artifacts. Conduct research to stay informed of best practices in preventive conservation and provide improvement recommendations across museums and heritage sites within the Authority. Provide training to management, site staff, technicians, and broad workforce on implementing preventive conservation guidelines for handling, mounting, caring for, and storing artifacts. Evaluate artifact transfer requests to determine travel suitability and document special packing/shipping considerations, notifying registrar and other relevant staff.
