Welding Supervisor - Production

1. Welding Production Supervision - Supervise day-to-day welding activities on shop floor including:- Structural welding (jackets, topsides, decks) - Fit-up and joint preparation - Ensure welding is carried out as per:- Approved WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) - Applicable drawings and weld maps 2. Work Planning & Execution - Execute work as per daily/weekly plans issued by planning team. - Ensure readiness of:- Materials - Welding consumables - Equipment and tools - Qualified welders - Allocate work to welders based on skill and qualification. 3. Workforce Supervision - Supervise welders, fitters, and helpers. - Monitor manpower productivity and efficiency. - Ensure proper discipline and work execution at site. 4. Quality Compliance - Ensure proper fit-up and joint preparation before welding. - Coordinate with QA/QC inspectors for:- Fit-up inspection - Visual inspection - NDT clearance - Rectify welding defects and monitor repair work. 5. Welding Consumables & Equipment - Ensure correct usage of welding consumables (electrodes, wires, gases). - Monitor proper handling of:- Electrodes (baking & holding) - Consumables storage - Ensure welding machines and equipment are in working condition. 6. Productivity Monitoring - Track welding progress (joints completed, inch-dia, tonnage). - Achieve production targets as per schedule. - Identify delays and take corrective measures. 7. Safety Compliance - Ensure adherence to HSE requirements:- Hot work permits - Fire prevention measures - Safe welding/gas cutting practices - Conduct toolbox talks and enforce safe work practices. 8. Coordination - Coordinate with:- Planning team (work targets and priorities) - QA/QC team (inspection readiness) - Stores (consumables availability) - Engineering (clarifications) Qualifications: Diploma Mechanical Engineering (DME) Experience: 5-15 years

Diploma Mechanical Engineering (DME); 5-15 years of experience in welding supervision, ideally in oil, gas, power, or infrastructure projects.

Productivity Monitoring: track progress and meet targets; identify delays and implement corrective actions. Safety Compliance: enforce HSE requirements, hot work permits, fire prevention, safe welding practices; conduct toolbox talks. Coordination: liaise with Planning, QA/QC, Stores, and Engineering for targets, inspections, consumables, and clarifications.
