Emirates Cabin Crew Requirements 2026: Check Yourself in Five Minutes

Before you polish a CV or book photos, check the seven requirements Emirates screens for. They are refreshingly clear-cut: most are yes-or-no questions you can answer today, and if you clear them all, you are as eligible as anyone in the queue of 3.5 million yearly applicants.

The seven requirements

Age: 21 or older at the time of joining

There is no published upper limit — crew are hired in their 30s and 40s — but you must be 21+ when you join.

Reach: 212 cm on tiptoes

You must touch a 212 cm mark while on tiptoes (shoes off). This replaces a strict height minimum and is tested at the assessment day.

English: Minimum B1 level

Spoken and written fluency. Additional languages are a genuine advantage in a crew serving 140+ nationalities.

Education: Completed secondary education

High school (Grade 12) or equivalent. A degree is not required.

Appearance: No visible tattoos

No tattoos visible while in uniform — including through cabin crew uniform fabrics. Covering with plasters or makeup is not accepted.

Mobility: Willing to relocate to Dubai

All Emirates cabin crew are Dubai-based, with company accommodation provided.

Health: Fit for flying duties

You must pass a pre-employment medical, including vision and general fitness checks.

What actually disqualifies people

Failing a stated requirement is rare — most applicants who check the list qualify on paper. The silent killers sit one level deeper:

Photos that ignore the grooming standard — the most common early rejection, and entirely avoidable.

Clearing the checklist puts you into a five-stage process that runs 4–12 weeks: online application, video interview, assessment day (where the 212 cm reach and an English test happen), final interview, and — for those who make it — the famous Golden Call. Each stage filters hard, and each rewards specific preparation over general enthusiasm. Once hired, the package is substantial: AED 9,500–11,000 a month tax-free with free Dubai accommodation.
