We are seeking a Inspector - Material to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. You will work collaboratively with engineering teams to verify that materials meet approved specifications, contract requirements, and local standards. Inspect and verify all construction materials delivered to site to ensure compliance with approved material submittals, and contract requirements. Check material source approvals, delivery notes, batch certificates, and test reports prior to acceptance and use at site. Carry out sampling and witnessing of laboratory and field tests for soil, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, steel, and other civil materials as per approved ITPs. Ensure materials used for roadworks, bridges, culverts, drainage, and utility works conform to approved specifications and drawings. Monitor storage, handling, and protection of materials to prevent contamination, segregation, or damage. Verify compliance with RTA-approved suppliers, manufacturers, and testing laboratories. Coordinate with the Material Engineer and Site Engineer regarding testing schedules, approvals, and material-related issues. Inspect asphalt paving, concrete works, earthworks, and backfilling to ensure correct materials and workmanship are used. Review and submit Work Inspection Requests (WIRs) related to materials and civil works. Maintain accurate inspection records, test results, and material logs for QA/QC and as-built documentation. Identify non-conforming materials, raise NCRs and site observations, and follow up on corrective actions. Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, especially during material handling, sampling, and testing activities. Monitor material usage and quantities to avoid wastage, misuse, or deviation from approved specifications. Assist in RTA inspections and audits, providing required documentation and site support. Report daily site activities, material inspections, and testing status to the Material Engineer / Resident Engineer.
**Required Experience:** Minimum 7 years of experience in material inspection within construction or civil engineering projects Proven experience witnessing and coordinating material testing and certifications Experience verifying supplier and manufacturer compliance with project requirements Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with engineering teams and site personnel Experience preparing inspection reports and maintaining quality documentation You must currently be based in the UAE **Required Education & Certifications:** Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or related field Valid material testing certification or equivalent professional qualification HSE or site safety certification (OSHA, NEBOSH, or equivalent) Valid driver's license for site mobility **Preferred Qualifications:** Experience with RTA (Roads and Transport Authority) standards and requirements DCL Approval Knowledge of roadworks, bridge construction, and drainage system specifications Familiarity with asphalt and concrete testing standards and specifications Experience with construction management software and digital inspection tools Additional certifications in concrete testing, asphalt testing, or soil mechanics
