Lead Mechanical Engineer (O&G, Mechanical Equipment - Static)

JOB SUMMARY Responsible for the technical integrity of assigned Mechanical Engineering activities. Responsible for quality defined in quality management system in general as well as according to governing rules, regulations, standards, specifications and or procedures. Independent responsibility for the professional execution of the work assigned to the team. Contribute to efficient execution in compliance with the Project schedule. Performance targets for the year to be established in Q1 every year as per instructions from NOV and managed through standard business processes and described in the performance tool. Execute projects with quality and cost-effective engineering deliverables, according to company directives and instructions, within laws, rules, and regulations. Participate and adhere NOV team strategy as well as business objectives set by NOV. Participate in package-specific tests and inspections as agreed with Project Quality Manager (PQM) JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Tasks and Responsibilities (not exhaustive) The Engineer shall on own initiative: Pursue professional development within own discipline/area, Report deviations, suggest improvements to the company QM system. Proactively work to continuously improve the company and its operations by LL initiatives. General technical assignments as requested by the project management. Design, drawing and model review. Budget analysis, Resource Deployment, Resource management Development of specifications and other engineering documentation, Interface with subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, General tasks related to procurement support, documentation, reporting, etc. Training and experience transfer of other less experienced engineering personnel. Technical Requisition (owner) Equipment Datasheet for Inquiry and Purchase Order (owner) Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) (owner) originate, drive resolution, and coordinate the clarification logs with Bidders – Technical Deviations and Clarifications (TD&C) – one per Bidder. (owner) Prepare a documented Recommendation for Award (RfA) based on TBE and TD&C’s (owner) Supplier deliverables - for each of them: review, collect and check other disciplines’ comments, prepare mark-up, decide, and stamp the status code on the document; fill in and file relevant check lists as applicable. Critically analyze comments received from Client and advise the project team regarding potential extra-contractual requirements or scope variations. Drive and coordinate closure of punch lists. Reporting and Communication The Engineer shall on own initiative: Reporting in project to the Lead Engineer / Engineering Manager and Project Manager. Report any non-compliance with HSEQ requirements to the Team Manager. Interact with the Engineer Manager regarding technical and project related challenges. Methods of Work Ensure that relevant working methods are followed. Perform tasks in such a way as to reduce environment and health risks. Ensure tasks performed are to a high quality, be involved in and suggest improvements where they may be needed. Participate in the evaluation of working methods and conditions thereby minimize the risk for workplace and environmental incidents and thereby minimize the risk for quality issues. Ensure processes are performed in compliance with internal and external requirements, defined and documented, continually measured, evaluated, improved and secured. Be proactive and Manage schedules and work to tight deadlines. Subordinates, peers and leadership. Actively participate in the appraisal process, ensuring objectives are entered into the system and are reviewed on time as required. Work closely with peers to reach the common and shared goals for NOV. HSEQ The Engineer shall on own initiative: Take personal responsibility for HSE by focusing on own behavior. Ensure that own work follows Company requirements for HSEQ. Contribute to continuous improvement of quality and safety of our products and deliveries. FACILITY SPECIFIC RESPONSIBLITIES: Preparation of Mechanical Datasheets, Material Requisition, Technical Bid Evaluation, Feasibility Evaluation, Mechanical Equipment Design and drawings, Input sketches for drafts man/ 3D modeling designer and datasheet Detail Engineering knowledge of Vessels internals & Detailed Engineering knowledge of rotating equipment and associated accessories lube oil system, fuel gas system, CIP system and associated electrical items interfaces & instrument items interfaces. Create Technical Requisitions, Equipment Datasheets for inquiries and POs, participate in Technical Bid Evaluations, coordinate TD&C with bidders, prepare recommendations for award, review supplier deliverables, and file relevant checklists. Analyze client comments and advise on potential extra-contractual requirements or scope variations. Drive and coordinate closure of punch lists. Report to Lead Engineer/Engineering Manager and Project Manager; report non-compliances to HSEQ; engage with Engineering Manager on challenges. Ensure working methods are followed, perform tasks with high quality, suggest improvements, evaluate working methods to minimize risk and incidents, ensure compliance with internal/external requirements, manage schedules to tight deadlines. Participate in appraisal process and coordinate with peers to achieve NOV objectives.
