Network & Infrastructure Architect DXC Technology Role Overview DXC Technology is seeking a Network & Infrastructure Architect to lead the design and governance of the network and infrastructure estate for a major greenfield campus transformation programme. Working under the central design authority, you will own architecture across multiple physically separated networks, covering campus LAN, high-density wireless, SD-WAN, data centre fabric, compute, storage and virtualisation. You will deliver a secure, scalable and resilient foundation throughout the programme lifecycle—from bid and solution design through implementation and transition to managed operations. Key Responsibilities Network & Campus Architecture • Own the architecture for campus LAN, routing and switching, SD-WAN and high-density wireless across multiple physically separated networks. • Design campus wireless coverage for residential, teaching and outdoor environments, including RF planning and wireless controller architecture. • Define network topology, segmentation and secure connectivity in collaboration with the security architecture team. • Incorporate network access control, out-of-band management and air-gapped operational technology network requirements. • Define automation and assurance capabilities, including controller-based provisioning, topology discovery and configuration compliance. • Design core network services, including DHCP, DNS and NTP/PTP time distribution. Data Centre & Infrastructure Architecture • Design primary and disaster recovery site architecture, including Cisco ACI spine-leaf fabrics, multi-site orchestration and connectivity to sovereign cloud services. • Define reference architectures for Windows/Linux compute, VMware virtualisation and SAN storage. • Establish high availability, disaster recovery, capacity and growth models across the infrastructure estate. • Coordinate rack, power, pathway, structured cabling and spare capacity planning with data centre and cabling teams. • Integrate infrastructure designs with security, unified communications and cloud platform architecture. Architecture Governance & Delivery • Develop architecture standards and reference designs aligned with programme requirements and the central design authority. • Assure performance, availability, scalability, security and resilience throughout design and implementation. • Guide network and infrastructure engineers, review technical designs and govern build quality against the approved architecture. • Evaluate technology options and resolve complex design issues across a multi-vendor delivery environment. • Support operational readiness and transition to NOC and managed services teams. • Communicate architecture decisions, dependencies and risks clearly to technical and business stakeholders. Bid & Solution Development • Contribute to bid responses through high-level designs, bills of materials, compliance matrices and technical clarification responses. • Ensure proposed solutions are deliverable and aligned with client requirements, architectural standards and operational needs. Required Qualifications & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. • Typically 7+ years of relevant industry experience, including at least 3 years in a network or infrastructure architecture or technical leadership role. • Strong hands-on architecture experience across: • Cisco Catalyst 9000 campus switching, routing and segmentation. • Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN. • Cisco ACI, Nexus spine-leaf fabrics, APIC and Nexus Dashboard multi-site capabilities. • High-density Cisco Wi-Fi 6E/7 and wireless controller design. • Cisco Catalyst Center automation and assurance, with Cisco ISE integration. • Windows/Linux compute, VMware virtualisation and SAN storage. • Microsoft DHCP and Active Directory-integrated DNS. • Demonstrated experience designing high availability and disaster recovery across primary and DR sites. • Understanding of data centre planning principles, including TIA-942 considerations, rack and power planning, pathways and structured cabling. • Experience integrating network and infrastructure designs with firewalls, NAC, unified communications and cloud platforms. • **CCNP Enterprise or CCNP Data Center certification • ITIL 4 Foundation certification. • Strong problem-solving, stakeholder communication and delivery coordination skills. • Professional proficiency in English. Preferred Qualifications & Experience • Experience designing large campus or multi-site environments for government, defence, higher education or critical national infrastructure. • Experience with physically separated networks, air-gapped OT environments and sovereign cloud connectivity. • Systems integrator bid experience, including high-level design and bill of materials preparation. • Familiarity with network automation platforms such as NetBrain. • CCIE, relevant infrastructure certifications, TOGAF or cloud architecture certifications. • Advanced degree in a relevant discipline. • Arabic language proficiency. What We Look For We are looking for an architect who combines technical depth with clear design ownership. You should be confident making architecture decisions, translating complex requirements into practical solutions and guiding engineering teams through delivery. Success in this role requires structured problem-solving, credible stakeholder engagement and effective collaboration across a multi-vendor programme under a central design authority.
