Data Engineer/Architect

Data Engineers & Architects Saudi Arabia | Full Time or Contractor Who We Are Where others stop, we start. At Aplos Data, we help organisations turn fragmented data into intelligent operating systems that improve decisions, automate processes and create measurable outcomes. Working with Palantir Foundry and AIP, we build production systems that become embedded in how businesses operate. The Aplos Data mindset is simple: take ownership, solve difficult problems and leave things better than you found them. We are engineers, builders and operators who thrive in complexity and hold ourselves to a high standard. The Opportunity We are looking for Data Engineers and Architects to join our growing team in Saudi Arabia. You will design, build and deploy enterprise-scale data and AI solutions that solve real operational challenges for leading organisations. Depending on your experience, you may focus on hands-on engineering and delivery, or take a broader architectural and technical leadership role across complex programmes. You will work closely with customers, translating business challenges into scalable technical solutions and taking ownership from design through to deployment and adoption. What You'll Do • Build scalable data pipelines, integrations, APIs and backend services. • Design and engineer production-ready solutions using Palantir Foundry and AIP. • Develop enterprise-scale data and AI architectures that are scalable, secure and maintainable. • Translate complex business requirements into practical technical solutions. • Work directly with customers to shape requirements, technical approaches and delivery plans. • Own delivery across design, implementation, testing, deployment and operational adoption. • Establish technical standards, patterns, guardrails and best practices. • Create reference architectures, blueprints and reusable technical assets. • Provide technical guidance and support engineers through design reviews and complex technical decisions. • Troubleshoot and resolve challenging technical issues. • Contribute to code reviews and continuously improve engineering standards. • Support pre-sales activity by helping shape technical approaches for new opportunities. • Mentor and develop teammates while raising the technical bar across the business. What We're Looking For Data Engineers Typically, 3–6 years' experience in Software Engineering, Data Engineering or a related discipline, with: • Strong proficiency in Python, Java or TypeScript. • Strong SQL and cloud platform experience. • Experience building APIs, data platforms, integrations or distributed systems. • Strong engineering fundamentals and experience delivering production-grade systems. • Excellent communication skills and confidence working directly with customers. • The ability to learn quickly, adapt to unfamiliar challenges and take ownership of outcomes. Data Architects / Senior Engineers Typically, 7+ years' experience in software or data engineering, including significant experience designing and delivering complex production-grade systems, with: • Deep technical expertise across backend engineering, data technologies and cloud/platform ecosystems. • Experience designing at both system and data-architecture level. • Demonstrated experience acting as a lead or primary architect on large or complex initiatives. • Strong understanding of architectural trade-offs including performance, cost, operability and flexibility. • Experience establishing or influencing engineering standards, patterns and best practices. • Experience with large-scale data platforms. • The ability to communicate complex technical decisions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Experience working in consulting or professional services environments. • Experience with Palantir Foundry or AIP is preferable but not essential. We place significant value on curiosity, problem-solving ability, engineering fundamentals and a genuine builder's mindset. What Success Looks Like You won't just build software. You'll build systems that organisations depend on every day. Successful engineers and architects at Aplos: • Take ownership rather than waiting to be told what to do. • Identify problems and challenge assumptions. • Deliver robust, scalable and maintainable technical solutions. • Connect technical decisions to real business outcomes. • Build trusted relationships with customers. • Raise engineering standards across the team. • Create solutions and architectures that can be reused and scaled across future engagements. For architects in particular, your designs will become the backbone of successful implementations, while your technical leadership will provide engineers and delivery teams with clarity on architecture, trade-offs and technical direction. Why Aplos Data? This isn't a company for people looking for a conventional engineering role. We move quickly, tackle difficult problems and give talented people significant ownership. The work is demanding because the outcomes matter — but you'll have the opportunity to work with talented people, solve meaningful problems and build systems that are deployed in the real world. If you're an engineer or architect who enjoys complex problems, enterprise technology, customer interaction and building things that genuinely matter, we'd like to hear from you.
