Accounts Receivable Accountant

We're hiring an Accounts Receivable Accountant to join a growing finance function within a leading technology and innovation organisation in Abu Dhabi. This isn't a traditional Accounts Receivable role focused purely on invoicing and collections. We're looking for someone with strong exposure to Revenue Accounting, Revenue Recognition and IFRS 15, ideally gained within a SaaS, software, technology or other commercial environment. What you'll be doing: • Manage accounts receivable activities including billing, invoicing, collections and customer reconciliations • Support revenue accounting and ensure revenue is recognised accurately in line with IFRS 15 • Review customer contracts to determine appropriate billing and revenue recognition treatment • Manage contract-based billing across subscriptions, milestones, projects and other commercial agreements • Reconcile AR subledger balances against the general ledger and investigate discrepancies • Manage deferred and unearned revenue and ensure accurate revenue reconciliations • Support month-end close activities and wider commercial finance requirements • Work with ERP systems and help improve reporting, controls and finance processes What we're looking for: • 3-5 years of experience across Accounts Receivable and Revenue Accounting • Strong practical understanding of Revenue Recognition and IFRS 15 • Experience reviewing customer contracts and understanding how contractual terms impact invoicing and revenue recognition • Hands-on experience with billing, invoicing, collections and reconciliations • Experience with contract-based, subscription, licensing, project or managed-services revenue models preferred • Experience within SaaS, software, technology, IT services or another commercial environment strongly preferred • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or NetSuite • ACCA, CPA or CA qualifications are advantageous • UAE experience preferred Why join? • Join a leading technology and innovation environment in Abu Dhabi • Work within a commercially focused finance function rather than a purely transactional AR role • Gain exposure to complex customer contracts and different revenue models • Opportunity to work with modern finance systems, automation and data-driven processes If you're an AR / Revenue Accountant who understands the difference between simply raising an invoice and correctly recognising revenue, I'd love to speak with you!
